Al-jawab billahi at-taufeeq (the answer with Allah's guidance)

The Janazah Salah behind a Shaf'i Imam is valid, but the Janazah of the absent is not valid according to the Hanafis. Therefore, he should leave if it is possible to leave, otherwise pray it with the Imam.

And Only Allah Ta'ala Knows Best.
