Al-jawab billahi at-taufeeq (the answer with Allah's guidance)
The wearing of the turban is a Sunnah. As stated in Fathul Bari, even an order for wearing turban has been reported from the prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), "Put on turbans as there by you will excel in forbearance."(Haakim, At Tabaraanee.)
Allama Aiyni has reported that someone had asked Ibn Umar (RA) if it was a Sunnah to wear a turban and he had replied in the affirmative. It says in another Hadith: "Wear a turban, for it is a mark of Islam and distinguishes a Muslim from an unbeliever." (Shamaa'il)
'Amaamah (turban) is the dignity of the muslim and the nobility of the 'Arab. When they will abandon the 'Amaamah, they will also abandon nobility.' (Dailamee)
'Performing salaat wearing the turban is equal to 10,000 virtues.' (Dailamee)
'Indeed Allaah and His angels send Durood on Friday upon those of the 'Amaamah.'
