What duahs should be read (from the sunnah) before and after religious gatherings?

e.g. before starting to read from a book of hadith in a gathering and after completing. (Please porivde arabic or transliteration)

Bismillah

Al-jawab billahi at-taufeeq (the answer with Allah's guidance)

Unfortunately, we do not know of a reported Dua for commencing a gathering. However, it is preferable that Deeni talks etc, are commenced with Bismillah, the praises of Allah Ta'ala and Durood and Salaam upon Nabi (Sallallaahu alayhi WaSallam).

The Masnoon Dua to be recited at the end of such gatherings is,

سبحن الله وبحمد سبحنك اللهم وبحمدك نشهدان لااله الا انت نستغفرك ونتوب اليك

Transliteration: 'Subhanallahi Wa Bihamdih, Subhanak-allahumma Wa Bihamdika, Nashhadu al lailaha Illa Anta, Nastaghfiruka Wa Natubu Ilaika. '

and Only Allah Ta'ala Knows Best.
