Masah of the head i.e. wiping of the head in salaah is fardh according to all the madhaaib. However there is a difference of opinion regarding the fardh amount.
According to the Hanafi school of thought a quarter of the head must be wiped for the fardh amount of masah to be fulfilled.
According to Imaam Shafi (RA), one to three hairs need only be wiped for the fardh of masah to be achieved.
However according to Imaam Maalik (RA), the entire head must be wiped.
