Assalamualikum

Respected ulema,
Untill what age it is permissable for a child to be nursed by the mother according to the hanafi school of thought?

Al-jawab billahi at-taufeeq (the answer with Allah's guidance)


The maximum period for breastfeeding is two years. (Shaami vol.1 pg.209).

Allah Ta'ala says, "The mothers shall give suck to their children for two whole years. "
(2: 233)


And Only Allah Ta'ala Knows Best.
