Watching television does not break wudhu. However, scholars have stated it is preferable to renew or perform wudhu after a person has sinned (Nurul Idhah p.84). Although this is not a substitute for repentance (tawbah), it helps somewhat towards atoning for minor sins (Maraqil Falah, p.84).
