Question: Shaytaan in dream
Salam,

I would just like to ask about a dream that my friend had. She really wants to know if it has any meaning to it.

Well she said that on a monday she had a dream that a devil was following her. But this devil came in the form of a person in our school, who is in our year and she is not a muslim. She was following my friend (but she came as a devil) and my friend kept praying so that the devil (the girl who came in the fom of a devil) would go away. She was trying everything to get away, prayed alot e.g. Surah's and Kalimah but it kept following her.

Now that was the first dream.

Two days later, on a Wenesday, she had a dream that I passed away and all she added that she cried alot.

Do these dreams have any meaning to them?

If it's just a dream from Shaytaan then let it be forgotten but if Allah ta'ala is trying to tell her something through these two dreams then kindly let me know.
Jazakallah,
Wassalam

Bismillah

Al-jawab billahi at-taufeeq (the answer with Allah's guidance)

The Shaytan has the ability to make a person see dreams which disturb and cause the person distress, with the aim of causing the person grief and pain.

Narrated Abu Qatada:

The Prophet said, "A good dream that comes true is from Allah, and a bad dream is from Shaytan, so if anyone of you sees a bad dream, he should seek refuge with Allah from Shaytan and should spit on the left, for the bad dream will not harm him." (Sahih Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 87, Number 115)

Please note: Spitting refers to imitating the act and does not require actual spitting.

It is narrated from Abu Saeed Khudri (ra) that he heard the Messenger of Allah say:"If anyone of you has a dream that he likes, then it is from Allah, so let him praise Allah Ta'ala for it and tell others about it. If he has something other then that, which he dislikes, that is from Shaytan, so let him seek refuge with Allah from its evil and not mention it to anyone, for it will not harm him. (Bukhari 12/369)

And Only Allah Ta'ala Knows Best.
