| Question: Performing Salah in the state of being unable to perform Wudhu and do Tayammum. | |
| Assalamualaykum,
If I was in a plane in the sate of the bigger impurity (i.e. in need of Ghusl) then should I have prayed Salah as I cannot perform Ghusl nor do tayammum, if i didn't then the time for Salah would pass and I would miss it. I heard somewhere that the 4 Imams have 4 separate opinions regarding this. Can you please tell me them. Jazakallahu khairan. |

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم الجواب حامداومصليا Being in the state of ritual cleanliness and in the state of Wudhu is one of the necessary conditions of Salah, without which the Salah would not be accepted. Narrated by Ibn Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنهما)that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: "No Salah is accepted without purification and no Sadaqah is accepted from the proceeds, of treacherous dealing." (Al Jamiul Kabeer (Sunan At Tirmidhi), Chapter: Tahara (purification), Vol.1 Pg.3, Al Risala Al Alamiyyah) So in such a case, when its possible i.e boarding off the plane and getting access to sufficient water one should perform the Fard Ghusl and pray the missed prayers (Qadha).
