﷽

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful

We recommend the following translations & commentaries of the Noble Qur’ān:

ENGLISH:

+ Ma’ārif ul Qur’ān by Mufti Shafi’ Uthmani (translation & commentary)

+ Tafseer-e-Uthmani by Mufti Shabbir Ahmad Uthmani (translation & commentary)

+ The Noble Qur’ān by Mufti Taqi Uthmani (translation & explanatory notes)

+ Qur’ān made Easy by Mufti Afzal Hoosen Elias (translation with brief explanatory notes)

+ The Qur’ān by Sahih International,Jeddah, KSA (translation)

+ The Glorious Qur’ān by Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall (translation)

+ The Glorious Qur’ān by Abdul Majid Daryabadi (translation & commentary)

+ The Qur’ān by M.A.S Abdel Haleem (translation & explanatory notes)

URDU:

+ Ma’ārif ul Qur’ān by Mufti Shafi’ Uthmani (translation & commentary)

+ Tafseer-e-Uthmani - translation by Shaykh al-Hind Mawlānā Mahmūd Hasan & commentary by Shaykh al-Hind Mawlānā Mahmūd Hasan (first 3 surahs) & Mufti Shabbir Ahmad Uthmani

+ Tafseer Hidayatul Qur’ān by Mufti Saeed Ahmad Palanpuri (translation & commentary)

+ Aasan Tarjuma Qur’ān by Mufti Taqi Uthmani (translation)

+ The Urdu translation & commentary of the Noble Qur’ān by Mawlānā Fateh Muhammad Jalandhari is authentic.

NB: Any translation of the Noble Qur’ān must be accompanied with the Arabic text next besides the translation.

The aforementioned recommendations are for the English & Urdu language. If you are unable to understand any thing or you have any questions during your study of the texts, make a note of the verse/s and consult an Aalim (scholar) so that you are saved from errors and doubt in understanding the Noble Qur’ān.

We advise caution against/refrain from the following English/Urdu translations mentioned in your question:

- Al-Hilali & Khan’s translation of the Holy Quran, titled The Noble Quran has been critically reviewed and found to be ‘…replete with errors grammatically, lexically, stylistically, and discoursally’. The research paper is available online - see footnote [1].

- Ahmed Raza Khan’s English & Urdu translations titled ‘Kanzul Iman’ due to errors found in them - see footnote [2] for a link to a more detailed response to this translation.

- Refrain from Mowdudi’s translation titled ‘Tafhim al-Qur'an’ due to his incorrect approach towards the understanding of Islam, erroneous approach and beliefs - see footnote [3] for a for a link to a more detailed response on reading ANY book authored by Mowdudi.

Please consult Ulamā (qualified scholars) from Ahlus-Sunnah was Jama’ah who are versed in Indonesian, Russian and French for advice on recommended translations/commentaries in those languages.

And Allah Ta’āla knows best
