Question: Civil marrige
Asselamu aleykum..
Is civil marrige is equal to nikah and is it permissible for the couple to have physical contact after civil marrige?

Civil marriage will be valid and lawful on the condition that there were two male witnesses or one male and two female witnesses, and with all the other prerequisites of marriage in Islam had been met.
