Question: Saying Salam whilst eating
Assalamu Alaikum,

What is the hukum of conveying salaam to someone whilst eating? is it makrooh, permissible...etc?

Al-jawab billahi at-taufeeq (the answer with Allah's guidance)


A person should not convey Salaam where there is fear that the person will not give the reply e.g when there is a Bayan (Islamic talk), during the Tilawah of Quran, Zikr, and whilst eating etc, it will be Makruh (disliked) to convey Salaam during these times.
