Question: ANSWERED - Beard growing on one side
Salamz Mufti Saheb

I am 21years old and i have been trying to keep a beard for some time but the problem is that it only grows on the right hand side of my face, i havent any skin problems or anything like that. so if i let it grow it will look realy wierd and funny and if i shave it, it is against islam. Mufti saheb what shall i do? am i allowed to shave it?

Wa Alaikum Salam,

If the beard grows on only one side, the other side is only permitted to be cut off (not shaved) upto an extent where both sides are equal.

The reason stated in the question is not enough to shave it completely. It would still be Haram.

The side which grows slower should be left untouched until it exceeds one fistful in length. The other side could be made equal to the slow side as and when needed as long as the slow side is left untouched.
