Question: Wearing Jeans in Salaah

Assalamoalaikum,


I just want to know whether we can pay namaaz while wearing jeans.

Though Salaat will be valid in jeans, it is reprehensible and against the etiquette of Salaat to wear tight fitting trousers which reveal the shape of the satar in Ruku and Sajdah.

Loose fitting and respectable attire should be worn.

Allah SWT instructs us in the Holy Qur'an, "O Children of Adam! Take your adornment during every prayer." (Al-A'araaf : 31)

This refers to respectable clothing.
