Question: Which job is better for a doctor who is a doctor one job is where she has to shave her head as a req
Which job can a women dentist do - one job is in a ladies only military academy where she requires to shave her head and the other job is in a normal hospital but she has to see male patients also . Can a woman perform umrah if her head is shaved

الجواب حامداومصليا

A female dentist can see only female patients. If there are no competent men dentist and in an emergency she could see male patients.

It is not permissible for women to shave her head without a valid excuse.

“When a woman shaves her hair; then if this is because of some affliction (as a means of medical treatment) then there is nothing wrong with it, (however) if she shaves in resemblance to men then it is disliked and she will be cursed due to the statement of our legislator (i.e Rasulullah salallahu alayhi wasallam).”
(al Muheet al Burhani 5/377)

A woman can perform Umrah if her head is shaved. She comes out of Ihram by shaving.

أخبرنا محمد بن موسى الحرشي، قال: حدثنا أبو داود، قال: حدثنا همام، عن قتادة، عن خلاس، عن علي: «نهى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أن تحلق المرأة رأسها» (سنن النسائي)

وإذا حلقت المرأة شعرها؛ فإن حلقت لوجع أصابها فلا بأس به، وإن حلقت تشبهاً بالرجال فهو مكروه، وهي ملعونة على لسان صاحب الشرع (المحيط البرهاني في الفقه النعماني (5/ 377))
