Question: Urgent- the questions is about divorce
Asalamualaikum hope you are well ,

My wife has been abusing me for months, yesterday i said to her “you’re” and then the word.

I then took her back saying “I take you back as my wife” . I wanna know what’s the process, she was on her period or just about to finish, this is the only time it has or ever happened, do I need to say specific wording or is what I said sufficient and just checking do I also need to be intimate with her asap.

الجواب حامداومصليا

You can do Ruju’ by verbally saying to return her back or by action, I.e. to hug or kiss her with desire. This must be done before her third menses finishes otherwise the Ruju will be invalid and you will have to remarry.

واذا انقطع الدم من الحيضة الثالثة لعشرة أيام انقطعت الرجعة وانقضت عدتها وإن لم تغتسل
وإن انقطع الدم لأقل من عشرة أيام لم تنقطع الرجعة حتي تغتسل…..(اللباب في شرح الكتاب ٤/١٣٥ دار البشائر الاسلامية)
