Question: Are early bird discounts halal?
I operate a business selling products. Is it permissible for me to offer an early bird discount for a specific length of time in order to generate sales.

E.g The cost of an item is $50, but if they purchase within the first 7 days of listing the product it will be $40 ($10 off). The price will then return to the original specified price.

Would this be a permissible transaction for both products and services rendered?

الجواب حامدا ومصليا

This will be permissible as long as it is mutually agreed at the time of sale.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَأْكُلُوٓا۟ أَمْوَٰلَكُم بَيْنَكُم بِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَ تِجَـٰرَةً عَن تَرَاضٍۢ مِّنكُمْ ۚ
O believers! Do not devour one another’s wealth illegally, but rather trade by mutual consent. (4:29)
