Question: Nikah to save from sin

Salaams, can a boy and girl just have nikah done (if approved by parents) so they can save themselves from current and future sin. And then plan to do widaa/walima perhaps a year or two later - after they have finished studies?

In the above mentioned case Nikah can be done, however, it is desirable that the marriage be announced although it is not necessary. Moreover, all regulations applicable to married couples will apply to them such as allowances, Mahr and other marital obligations. والله أعلم
