I have recently found that a number of my Muslim acquaintances, are listening to music. I wanted the evidence from you as to why music is forbidden in Islam, thereafter i will Bi-idhnillah be able to show this evidence to these people and they will stop doing this sinful act InshaAllah.

Assalamu Alaikum, Respected 'Ulama,
Firstly i would like to say that i know celebrating birthdays ordinarily is not permissable but my situation requires me to ask this question.
i am married and both me and my husband follow the deen. But my in-law with whom we live are ignorant of a lot of the deen. My oldest (married) sister in law does not follow the deen at all and she has invited my husbands family to her sons birthday party. As this sister is favourite of all of my husbands siblings, it is unthinkable to my mother and father inlaw for any of us to refuse to go resulting in my sister in law being upset and angry.
i have said to my husband that i dont want to go a celebration that is haram (in and of itself), where there may be music and there may not be any segregation as we do niqab.
My husbands reply was that it may be permissable for us to go as, if we didnt go there would be a Fitnah caused amongst my mother and father in law by my oldest sister in law.
Please advise me as to what i should do in this situation.

I know that taking pictures and filming is haram! Then why is it that I see pious and practising muslims on TV (the Islam Channel). Are they committing a sin or is it permissible because it is benefitting other muslims?
Also is it allowed to take pictures with a mobile phone?

Please tell me that if we are woking in the shop with all the things we have to sell the the lottery tickets and serve the food that contain pork .we are just providing service so the money we are earning is hallal or haram.

I am a bussiness man and today the situation of my bussiness is that it needs investment .Any have if i collaberate with any other person the situation is becoming bad as the devil is making all the work in peril.
In such a situation if i take a loan for a truck or investment into my bussiness through loans which are provided by banks or minority loans at an annual interest .Please tell me is this allowed in such circumstances or not.

There is a muslim girl who has a job of looking after a disabled christian woman who has sufferred from stroke. She has to feed this woman as part of her job duty. Now sometimes she even has to feed her pork. The meal itself is prepared by the hospital. But her job is to feed her. Is that allowed for her?

I would like to know if it is permissable to work for charities such as Oxfam or Shelter (helping homeless)?
The job which I am interested in involves found raising, this is done in public by signing up people to give donations through direct debit.

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah dear respected Ulema, brothers and sisters.
I am currently studying to become a teacher and am facing difficulties with the course.
I am finding it very time consuming which has also resulted in affecting my health. It is stressful physically, mentally and emotionally.
I have lossed time for ibadah, quran etc.
I have faced compromising issues such as tackling homophobic behaviour. I was asked to assist a class in giving a presentation about tackling homophobia. Alhumdulliah the class decided that they did not want to do the topic. However, I am pretty sure issues like this occur frequently in school.
I have experienced that most teachers are women which makes it difficult for a muslim man.
I have made istikharah and I have seen that I left the course and the feeling i have inside is that I do not want to continue.
However, people have told me to continue and start what I finished. They have told me it is a good qualification to have.
I have been asked 'what am I going to do next'? I have replied - find a job which is less time consuming and rizk is from Allah.
What do you as ulema suggest?

Assalamu Alaikum Respected Mufti Sahib,
I know that it is wajib to grow the beard but many ppl claim that the beard only has to be seen and the one fist rule is a made up concept by the late deobandi ulamaa. Is one fist proven from Hadeeth or from the doings of the Sahabaa? Can you please put some light on this issue as I have not found any questions on the beard.

What is the ruling regarding morgage? Some say it is haraam and some say it is halaal. I know that there are other Islamic morgages but they are too expensive. What do I do?

Assalam O Alaikum, Please advise me if running/owning a petrol pump in USA which sells beer & lottery tickets is right for a muslim. I am 62 years old and have migrated to USA as my children live here. I can not find a proper job and I do not wish to be a burden on my children. Many muslims are in this business and I have been advised to get into this business.

Someone asked me today, what would one say if someone said that "listening to music on friday wouldnt make a difference. u listen to it every other day anyway."
Every other day is bad as it is but how is it the same on a firday?

Dear respected Mufti Sahib I hope and pray this email reaches you in the best of health spiritually and physically. I have two question which need answering , I hope you will be able to assist me in this may Allah give you success ameen.
Question One: The son of a freind suffers from Autism; the son is aged approximately 7 years old. Doctors prescribe a medicine by the name of SECRETINE which is made from PIG. Secretine has a history of curing autism and in the least medically improves the condition of autism. One could assume there is a 50%-80% success rate.
My friend will not allow his son to take the medication on religious grounds as the medicine is made from swine. My question is in Shariah is it permissible to use SECRETINE to cure autism? Is there any particular medicine or form of alternative medicine one could use to cure autism which you are aware of?

Will all the sinners for e.g who dont pray namaz, listen to music do adultery drink sharaab will they go to Jannah?
As Allah is forgiving, but that wont be fair on us Muslims who are practising Islam in a rightful way, we have to strive our way to have a place in Jannah but the Muslims that do all the evil sins get a easy ways as allah is merciful and forgiving but dont you think that is unfair?
