Can I listen to tafseer of quran by Dr.Israr Ahmed and Farhat Hashmi ?

We advise to refrain from commentaries of the Qur’ān by both individuals in question.


In principle, an individual should not rely on the Tafsīr (commentary) of the Noble Qur’ān by any non-Aalim (Islamic Scholar).


Dr Israr Ahmed is not an Aalim (Islamic Scholar) [1], and his incorrect views have been highlighted by scholars such as Shaykh Mawlānā Yūsuf Ludhyānwī (rahimahullāh) in his book “Dawr e Hāzir Meh Tajaddud Pasandoh ke Afkār.”  [2]


Farhat Hashmi, has been noted as a free-thinking individual with views against the majority. 

Darul Ifta Jami’āh Banoria Karachi have also issued a fatwa against Dr Farhat Hashimi. [3]
