LOL, as if traffic wardens didnt have enough issues on their plate!

Now we should rename the traffic warden to "A Hanafi Scholar" and it would be more realistic!

Where is the "Bin bags" cartoon posted by Seifeddine

I saw that earlier and I saw brother Muadh's reply stating the greatness of the highly respected scholar, Shaykh bin baz. No doubt, the Shaykh is highly respected by all of us.

However, the comic was not in disrespect to the Shaykh, Infact it was nothing to do with the Shaykh until the salafi intervened and took the whole thing out of context.

It showed humour and taught a great lesson too.

Lessons learnt from the comic;
No eavesdropping,
Do not suspect,
Do not spy,
Do not lie,
Do not stir trouble,
Do not backbite,
Do not slander,
Ascertain the truth.
and finally, get a stronger bin bag.

If others agree, then I believe it should be put back.

Salam. it was removed upon request as it was edited by seif and removed. It can always be added back with an explanation so its not misunderstood as disrespect.

Asslamo Allaikum Maulana,

As an American I would like to tell you that "they purposely use the slang of bin to ridicule (Arab) names e.g. Bin-Ladin (RA) is called Bin-Liner etc."

And its disrespectful of the highest order.

On the other hand we (Americans) use Pakees, Gujees, Bangars & Patels all the time while in UK they are considered rude and disrespectful.

I understand your concern, but think out of the box. How many people can still learn from an innocent cartoon, specially if it is posted with what has happened behind the scenes.

If we think Islamic, our thoughta in everything would be much more clear inshaAllah. I'm not trying to say that anyone will misunderstand it, but imagine the lessons that can be learnt from it too.

I still think that the cartoon should be fine together with commentary of the sins that have taken place.

What I have mentioned is just a few, so much mire can be added like verses of the Quran that mention, suspicion, spying, back biting, lying, gossiping, etc.

I believe Seifeddine is only waiting for your approval.

(i thought bins were called trash cans in the States)

Saying Paki, Guji, Banger etc is not considered racist in the UK either unless it's said by a stranger. I'm pretty sure it's the same in the states.

If my friend called me a paki, it'd be funny coz I'm not. If a stranger called me a paki, it'd be a racist attack. If a friend called me Guji, it wouldn't bother me but if a stranger said it, I'd wonder what made him say that (like was I being tight or something).

All in all, anything that can be deemed inappropriate or offensive needlessly should in my opinion be avoided. If it is posted, a clear message should be posted to clear things up. It could have made a decent and informative thread too.

subliminal messages

Not many can see the other side of the story, but it sits in the back of the head.

If the cartoon was posted with the scenery of what happens behind it, may help others think differently.

Anyway, it does not matter, the point has been made here too. Jazakallah.

Seifeddine, please go ahead and post the cartoon.

Post it here or in a new thread together with the background comments.

In the above cartoon, did anyone notice that the reply for the Salaam was "Wa'alaykum" only. SubhanAllah. This cartoon really does paint a true picture with regards to the attitude of some people.

And they are actually going against Qur'an as well.

Here's the Daleel!!:

"When you are greeted with a greeting, greet in return with what is better than it, or (at least) return it equally. Certainly, Allah is Ever a Careful Account Taker of all things."
(4:86) [Muhsin Khan]
