JEDDAH – Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Abdullah Aal Al-Sheikh, Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, has said the day of fasting for Ashoura, Muharram 10, falls on Tuesday, Dec. 6. Sheikh Aal Al-Sheikh called this a way out of arguments that the crescent was not sighted to mark the beginning of Muharram. He said Saturday therefore was the last day of Dhul Hijjah and Sunday the first of Muharram. Hence, the 9th and 10th of Muharram – days on which Muslims are recommended to fast – fall on Monday (Dec. 5) and Tuesday (Dec. 6) respectively. — Okaz/SG __

دعا مفتي عام المملكة رئيس هيئة كبار العلماء وإدارة البحوث العلمية والإفتاء الشيخ عبدالعزيز بن عبدالله آل الشيخ إلى «صيام عاشوراء يومي الاثنين والثلاثاء»، لافتا إلى أن هذا مخرج من القول بأن رؤية هلال شهر محرم لم تثبت فيكون السبت تمام ذي الحجة والأحد غرة محرم والإثنين تاسوعاء والثلاثاء عاشوراء.

من جهته، قال نائب رئيس مجلس إدارة الجمعية الفقهية السعودية أستاذ الفقه في جامعة الإمام محمد بن سعود الإسلامية الدكتور سعد بن تركي الخثلان، إن دخول شهر محرم ليلة السبت الماضي لم يثبت، مضيفا «لقد قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم (فإن غم عليكم فأكملوا العدة ثلاثين) وعليه فإن يوم الأحد هو غرة شهر محرم (أي بعد تقويم أم القرى بيوم)، وبذلك يكون يوم عاشوراء الثلاثاء 11 من محرم حسب تقويم أم القرى والذي يوافقه 6 من ديسمبر الجاري»، لافتا إلى أن السنة أن يصام يوم قبله أو يوم بعده.

من جهته، أوضح عضو هيئة التدريس في جامعة أم القرى الدكتور إحسان المعتاز أنه «نظراً لأن يوم الجمعة الماضي كان هو 29 من شهر ذي الحجة يقيناً بحكم المحكمة العليا، فإن يوم السبت من هذا الأسبوع وافق اليوم الأول من شهر الله المحرم حسب تقويم أم القرى»، مضيفا «أعتقد أنه لم يتم رؤية هلال المحرم ليلة السبت مع وجود محاولات لرصده، خصوصاً مع وجود غيم في بعض مناطق التحري».

وزاد «ولذا فإن الأمر لا يخرج عن احتمالين اثنين؛ أولاهما: أن يكون يوم السبت هو الأول من المحرم فعلا فيكون يوم عاشوراء هو يوم الاثنين المقبل مع استحباب صوم يوم قبله أو بعده. وثانيهما: أن يكون يوم السبت هو 30 من ذي الحجة، ويكون يوم الأحد هو الأول من المحرم، وبذلك يكون الثلاثاء المقبل موافقاً ليوم عاشوراء».

Besides myself he has hundreds or thousands of brothers and sisters mureed to him who have all, alhumdolillah, changed their lives and now are god fearing (muttaki) people themselves. أوضحت المحكمة العليا أن يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 11/1/1433هـ المصادف 6/12/2011م حسب تقويم أم القرى هو اليوم العاشر من شهر محرم بناءً على ثبوت دخول شهر ذي الحجة عام 1432هـ ليلة الجمعة الموافق 1/12/1432هـ المصادف 28/10/2011م حسب تقويم أم القرى.
جاء ذلك في بيان للمحكمة العليا فيما يلي نصه :-
// الحمد لله وحده والصلاة والسلام على من لا نبي بعده أما بعد : فلقد عظم الله هذا الشهر وشرفه فنسبه لنفسه وسماه شهر الله المحرم وهو من الأشهر الحرم التي حرمها الله، قال تعالى ( إن عدة الشهور عند الله إثنا عشر شهراً في كتاب الله يوم خلق السموات والأرض منها أربعة حرم ذلك الدين القيم فلا تظلموا فيهن أنفسكم ) ،ومن أعظم القرب في هذا الشهر الكريم الصوم وهو أفضل التطوع، فعن أبي هريرة أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال ( أفضل الصيام بعد شهر رمضان شهر الله الذي تدعونه المحرم وأفضل الصلاة بعد الفريضة قيام الليل ) رواه مسلم .
وعن أبن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال ( قدم النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم المدينة فرأى اليهود تصوم يوم عاشوراء فقال ما هذا ؟ قالوا : هذا يوم صالح، هذا يوم نجى الله بني إسرائيل من عدوهم فصامه موسى .قال : فأنا أحق بموسى منكم فصامه وأمر بصيامه) رواه البخاري ،وسئل ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما عن صيام يوم عاشوراء فقال ( ما علمت أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم صام يوما يطلب فضله على الأيام إلا هذا اليوم ولا شهراً إلا هذا الشهر يعني رمضان ) رواه البخاري ومسلم، وعن أبي قتادة رضي الله عنه قال : سئل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن صيام يوم عاشوراء فقال ( يكفر السنة الماضية ) رواه مسلم ،وعن ابن عباس رضي الله عنه قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم (لئن بقيت إلى قابل لأصومن التاسع ) رواه مسلم .
ونظراً لعدم ثبوت رؤية هلال شهر الله المحرم ليلة السبت الموافق 1/1/1433هـ حسب تقويم أم القرى ولعدم ورود خلاف ذلك طيلة الأيام الماضية ولقوله صلى الله عليه وسلم الشهر هكذا وهكذا وهكذا ثم عقد إبهامه في الثالثة فصوموا لرؤيته وأفطروا لرؤيته فإن أغمي عليكم فاقدروا له ثلاثين رواه مسلم ولقوله صلى الله عليه وسلم فإن لم تروه فأكملوا العدة ثلاثين وفي رواية فإن غم عليكم فأكملوا العدة ثلاثين رواه البخاري .
وبناءً على ثبوت دخول شهر ذي الحجة عام 1432هـ ليلة الجمعة الموافق 1/12/1432هـ المصادف 28/10/2011م حسب تقويم أم القرى .
فعليه يكون يوم الإثنين الموافق 10/1/1433هـ المصادف 5/12/2011م حسب تقويم ام القرى هو اليوم التاسع من شهر محرم ويوم الثلاثاء الموافق 11/1/1433هـ المصادف 6/12/2011م حسب تقويم أم القرى هو اليوم العاشر.
نسأل الله أن يتقبل من الجميع صيامهم وصالح أعمالهم إنه ولي ذلك والقادر عليه وصلى الله على نبينا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه وسلم .

5) Br Qamaruddin (from York) said on 02DEC2011, "I just telephoned the Head of Saudi Hilal Committees in Riyadh for confirmation. I was told that on Friday 25th November 2011 none of the official Saudi Hilal Committees were able to sight the Hilal of Muharram. Also, the two places near Riyadh from where the "early-sighters" usually claim sightings were totally cloudy, so they could not claim any sightings either (Alhamdulillah)! "

The Central Moon Sighting Committee of GB has changed its first announcement, for First of Muharram 1433 as our representative Dr.Maulana Saeed Ahmed Inayatullah Makki told us that he spoke again with Mahkamah Ulyah this morning and they informed that ``ZulHajjah 1433 have counted 30 days on the basis of Shariah and therefore, the First of Muharram 1433 is on Sunday 27th November 2011``. CMSC apologizes for any inconvenience caused. The 10th of Muharram falls on Tuesday 6th December 2011, therefore the Sunnah fast of Ashura should fast on Monday and Tuesday or can fast Tuesday and Wednesday. The change in the dates also adds further credence that the Saudi Mahkamah Ulyah decide the Islamic dates based purely on the Shariah.

:-) So much for personally speaking to the same person and getting two different pieces of information! :-)
