Wifaqul Ulama requests all British Muslims to attempt to sight the moon for Jumadal Ula 1437 this evening on Tuesday the 09th of February 2016.


You can report your sighting as follows:

سيحدث الاقتران المركزي (المحاق المركزي) يوم الاثنين 08 فبراير/شباط 2016 الساعة 14:39 بالتوقيت العالمي بمشيئة الله . رؤية الهلال مستحيلة بسبب غروب القمر قبل غروب الشمس أو/و بسبب حصول الاقتران السطحي بعد غروب الشمس

و في يوم الثلاثاء 09 فبراير/شباط 2016 رؤية الهلال ممكنة في اكثر بلدان من آسيا, افريقيا و امريكا

The New Moon time is 14:39 on 8th February 2016. The following diagram shows the visibility of the new crescent  Moon on 9th February 2016. This indicates that sighting will be easily possible in many Countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and Americas.

Since the Moon was sighted by mutliple witnesses in Leicester (UK), Wifaqul Ulama announces that Jumadal-Aula 1437 will begin from Wednesday the 10th of February 2016.
