The post notification via the app should have an option of "never".

Some of is don't need it, as we live here. Lol

I selected once a day but it still came up at least 3 times, and even though all posts were read, (supposedly) it still said 10 New posts. Nevertheless, still a good feature.

There's a checkbox above it to turn update alerts off. The timing options is only if update alerts are on. However, I think once I tested to turn it off but I got an alert anyway. Can you turn it off and ensure you get no more alerts please? Jazakallah

Update on the muftisays app on iPhone:

Apparently, Apple's policy might not allow this app to be published in the same format the the current android app is in. It might be limited to one or two features only (Q&A and Enumbers only) - Maybe MSNS radio too.

InshaAllah I will keep you updated.

The two options so far is to:
1. Make it a paid app to cover costs (not the best option)
2. Accept individual donations to cover costs. Once the cost is covered, further donations will not be taken for this app so if you wish to donate, step up quick.

For option 2, there's already 3 people who are ready to donate upon start. If you are interested in donating any amount for this, please contact me using the contact page or send me a PM if you're logged in). This way, the app will be free, hundreds/thousands more will probably download it and just imagine the reward for being part of it? "Wealth does not decrease by giving charity" - Hadeeth

And finally, in the email/PM, please state whether it's a fix amount of £... or if you want to split the cost when after we have a remaining target. E.g. if there's £50 remaining to collect for the app development and 5 people have given their names for splitting cost then it would be £10 each.

Please do NOT reply to this topic with your donation pledges. Please leave this topic for the android app. Jazakumullah

Asslamo Allaikum,

I have noticed that even when I exit the application it stays running in the background and lists the updates. Is that normal? Is it supposed to run constantly in the background?

Jazakullah Khairun

Wa Alaykum Salam,

The app itself doesn't run constantly in the background. It exits when you return away from open screens. However, the notifier is scheduled to check once every 15/30/60 minutes or once a day depending on what you set in the app (you can also turn this off by unchecking "Check updates" in the settings of the app. The app adds the scheduled check so it will still check even if the app isn't running.

Wassalam

Salam,

Re: iPhone platform muftisays app

I've got a quote and I might finalise it today inshaAllah.

Any final volunteers who want to be part of this Sadaqah? Huge rewards for every person it benefits I don't need to remind you. Please note, once the amount has been collected, no more donations will be taken for this. The chance will be lost to contribute towards this.

Donations for the iPhone version of the muftisays app. Please PM letting me know. Alhamdulillah we already have enough volunteers splitting the cost and this post is simply to give YOU a chance (the more contributors, the less the amount for each person but the rewards will not decrease inshaAllah).

Wassalam

Salaam, are there any brothers and sister out there that would like to contribute towards raising some funding towards the highly awaited MuftiSays iPhone App.

Alhumdulillah, the android has done very well and I'm sure the iPhone app will do just as well, if not, then much better.

Can you imagine the rewards you could be earning by helping thousands of people with this app. Your help could save them from eating Haram food, it could guide someone back to the straight path by reading the question and answers or by reading a book or simply listening to a lecture from there.

Allah is the one who guides, so let him make us the means of their guidance.

Jazakallahu khair.

Please contact Admin via PM if you wish to be one of the lucky ones who will gain rewards by others using the app.

3.1.1 added to fix a small bug.
Forum posts will now show images and allow clickable links.

There are still many users who only know of the app after finding on the market (play) and are yet to discover the site.

Alhumdulillah.

Especially for the threads like the news.
