Ramad-amnesia is a condition affecting millions of Muslims in the UK and around the world yet there has been very little resources invested in diagnosing and treating this illness.

It is highly contagious and can be contracted through speech, action and even thoughts.

The source of the outbreak is usually a blow to the head,an excessive Eid hug or even just the news of Eid which causes the sufferer to forget every important lesson learnt in Ramadan.

This temporary state of amnesia can last for eleven months until the next month of Ramadan where the sufferer enjoys a temporarily relief from its symptoms, only to contract the illness once again at the end of Ramadan.

Hence the cycle of eleven months of suffering and one month of relief continues year after year, often with the sufferer living in self denial of their condition.

Wallahi, I was thinking the same thing yesterday. I even thought of starting a thread on my feelings and loneliness.

How I wish we were still in Ramadhan.

Shaitans out and even stronger. Not only the people around you but your own actions causes one to wish for Ramadhan.

My wife and kids see my face and ask me what's the matter. The only reply I can give is "just because Ramadhan is over, look at these people", they can only reply by saying, you can't change everyone.

I miss Ramadhan, I miss the atmosphere of Ramadhan, I miss the full Masjids of Ramadhan, I miss the recitation from everyone in Ramadhan, I miss the good behavior of people in Ramadhan, I miss the good actions of everyone in Ramadhan, I miss the respect people had in Ramadhan, I miss the sabr of Ramadhan, I miss, I miss, I miss.......

رمضامنيسيه
The 'Alif' is silent just like the silence from its victims

- Derived from the root words Ramadhan and Amnesia

Ram·a·dan
n.
9th month in the Islamic calendar

[from Arabic, literally: the hot month, from ramad dryness]

am·ne·sia
(m-nzh)
n.
Partial or total loss of memory, usually resulting from shock, psychological disturbance, brain injury, or illness.

From the first post, I thought this was a real condition after reading the first paragraph. Then I read the rest and realised it really is a real condition. Rather serious and widespread in fact.

Can some one explain the thumbs down.

People have totaly forgotten about their deeds of Ramadhan. People are suffering from an illness which is causing them to go down a path far away from deen and may only return after 11 months.

People are living in self denial, they think they are doing good but they are in delusion.

Jazakallah, i miss .... Was to suggest that the list of illness from these people could go on and on. If only people stayed on the Ramadhan mood.

Real life scenario:

1 Day before Eid; "What Juzz are you on?"
1 Day after Eid; "What movie shall we watch tonight?"

Allah in his infinite wisdom gave us 1 month to recharge our state. If only we could stay in such a state and not live in shock for 11 months.
