The Tongue will one day reveal the real YOU, The tongue will one day speak out and show what is realy in your heart. Be careful as to what you have taken into your heart. "When man wakes up in the morning each day, all parts of the body warn the TONGUE saying, ‘Fear God as regards us, for we are at your mercy; if you are upright, we will be upright and if you are crooked, we become crooked.’" (At-Tirmidhee) Shaykh Riyadhul Haq gave an excellent example of how the tongue works in a talk on Slander. InshaAllah I will try to put this in a very easy to understand form for all. ![]() Only that which you put into it. Therefore if you put water inside, only water would come out, if you put blood inside, only blood would come out, if you put Zamzam inside, only Zamazam would come out, if you put dirty water inside, only dirty water will come out. Now lets take a look at a vital organ, The Heart. The heart is the same as the water pot, What ever you put inside, the same shall come out. Let us becareful as to what we do, what we see, what we feel, how we behave, etc etc. ![]() So what ever we take in and absorb will one day come out. And how will it come out? The Tongue! ![]() The weapon of Mass destruction I have tried to keep it as simple as possible, but one can go into some great depth in their explanation of this.

[Al-Bukhari] Abu Hurairah (radiallahu anh) reported: The Prophet (salallahu alayhi wa sallam) said, "He who believes in Allah and the Last Day must either speak good or remain silent.'' [Muslim] Abu Hurairah (radiallahu anh) reported: I heard the Prophet (salallahu alayhi wa sallam) saying, "A person utters a word thoughtlessly (i.e., without thinking about its being good or not) and, as a result of this, he will fall down into the fire of Hell deeper than the distance between the east and the west.'' [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Evil words are for evil men, and evil men are [subjected] to evil words. And good words are for good men, and good men are [an object] of good words. Those [good people] are declared innocent of what the slanderers say. For them is forgiveness and noble provision. Surah Nur Verse 26. ![]()

If I have offended anyone with my tongue (by typing), then I'm sorry. But when I hear the truth, I can not keep it a secret if it is knowledge that can be passed on. Yes, I do keep secrets of other peoples wrongs, as Allah has said he will keep my sins a secret too. I hope there is a lesson in this for us all.

The tongue is the mouthpiece of the heart; whatever is in the heart will be revealed through the tongue. When a person is calm he can maintain a facade, however the moment he becomes angry, passionate or embroiled in an argument, his tongue will reveal what is truly in his heart. If a person does not work on cleaning his heart and mind, these things will surface under pressure. When a person is tested by his pride being pricked or by being provoked, then he will show his true colours. However, a believer whose heart has been cleansed will always respond with honour and dignity whatever the situation. [This short excerpt is based on a brothers' majlis (gathering held for spiritual training) held by Shaykh Abu Yusuf Riyadh ul Haq on 30th January 2002]. www.contentsoul.com/2012/02/16/mouthpiece-of-the-heart/
