It doesn't justify free mixing if that's what you're implying

Why would you suggest that incident "involved free mixing"?

That's not what is being said at all.

It's a rhetorical response.

The linkni gave from deoband.org discusses this verse and the rulings drawn from it. Read the entire article.

Quote:

As for when the man is safe from temptation and does not desire gratification by looking there is disagreement over its permissibility. The position of the Hanafis and the Malikis is the permissibility of looking at the face and hands in this case and this is the position of many of the Shafi’is and few Hanbalis. However the preferred [view] according to the Shafi’is and the Hanbalis is absolute impermissibility even if safe from desire and temptation

"Abu Juhaifa, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "The Prophet [pbuh] established a bond of brotherhood between Salman and abu al Dard'a. Salman visited Abu al Dard'a and found his wife, Um al Dard'a disheveled. "What's wrong?" he asked her. She replied: "Your brother, Abu al Dard'a, has no worldly desires…"

In addition to Abu Mohammed's suggestion to the admin to add a "fine" rating tab, I think there should be a "Duh!" rating too :(

You replied my post sarcastically without understanding it.

I quoted Surah al noor wherein we are injuncted to lower our gaze whereas hadith mentioned in fatwa reveals that Hz Salman RA and Hz umm Darla RA apparently were all alone in house and saw each other especially Hz Salman RA, a ghair mehram, otherwise how he could know her being disheveled?

Here bro Abu Muhammad asked me the date of revelation of Surah noor that if the ayat was revealed after this incident then in this case the ruling of this incident should be considered as abrogated. He didn't clarified his intention though but it's understood otherwise why he asked me date?

Now, here the Q arise if the ayat of Surah al noor was revealed after this incident then why the scholar who gave the fatwa mentioned in the link (of bro concerned) quoted this incident to prove that a ghair mehram woman can teach a ghair mehram student ?.
