A Facebook Post About Babri Masjid

A Facebook friend of mine wrote the following on his wall:

Quote:

Is there a proof that a temple ever existed at the site of Babri Mosque?
For that matter is there a proof that even SriRam ever existed?
There was a Mosque at that place which was in use to offer prayers. And that Mosque was razed. Wantonly. And the government was a silent spectator.
The only honorable solution is that the government apologizes and the Mosque is rebuilt.

I shared above post with the following reamarks:

Quote:
In the morning one can look into the mirror straight in the eyes with this kind of posts. I salute my friend.

The understated courage of friends like this one makes sinners like me marvel at them.

At the height of lynch-mania Nachiketa Desai sir described the top man in no uncertain terms.

What Sanjiv Bhatt stood for is not secret.

It is the moral courage and strength and integrity of people like them that will see India through the troubled times that we might face in future.

Daniel Haqiqatoglu in Hindi

Daniel is a young Muslim public intellectual of Turkish Origin in the US. He calls himself a Muslim Skeptic. Most probably the skepticism is not about God but about the two dominant western philosophical streams of atheism and liberal democratic thought.

Yesterday I came to know that his Facebook page is now available in Hindi. Obviously he thinks it appropriate to reach Indian audience. This discovery gave me a cringe.

Disclaimer : I welcome Daniel to Indian academia.

India has, perhaps, the largest Muslim population in the world. This Muslim population might be only 14.1 percent of the country's population but at the world level it becomes something like sixth or so largest population in the world when it comes to the population of countries. Naturally a smart and dynamic thinker would like to reach that audience. That he chose Hindi over Urdu is tribute to the realization that Urdu script is recognized less than Devnagri script. One must admire Daniel's knowledge of ground reality.

My flinching at his entry is because of another reason. Though we Muslims of India have not only painted ourselves into a corner but even before that we have made ourselves completely inconsequential in the scheme of things not only at the national but also at international level. Looking at historical developments one would conclude that Muslims of India should have been by now not only aspiring for but actually leading the Muslim world.

When the Chengiz Khan and Halaqu Khan hordes turned to devastate Central Asia and Gulf region and even before that Muslim from those areas, those who could, came to India for here there was stable and dynamic Muslim rule. As a consequence a flying look at Muslim history tells us that very soon India became not only a center but the center of Islamic science of every sort - Sufism, Jurisprudence, Hadith, Exegesis, historiography and the works.

Of course it with all these strengths that the Indian Muslims were caught and swept away in the western colonial tsunami.
They did put up a resistance but Europe had arrived with superior preparations and nothing worked at Indian level or at the level of world wide Muslim community - the Ummah. Yet enough strength was left in the community that it participated in a very robust freedom movement that sent the British home as well as inspired most of the colonized countries to break free of colonial rule.

Then it found itself divided into three pieces in the Indian subcontinent - India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. The tragedy turned into irony too because it not only found itself divided but also has been constantly served the bill for partition and chastised in a multitude of manners for creating that division. In spite of so much of efforts for independence and so many sacrifices and so much of historical evidence and visibility for the same even in India we Muslims have not asserted that we are the inheritors of the likes of Maulana Azad, Maulana Muhammed Ali and the Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Hind and other freedom fighters.

The result is that not only we Muslims of India are in an extremely bad shape today socially, culturally, economically and politically but we have just gone through a security threat that is of horrific proportions and unthinkable even for small populations let alone for a two hundred million like people.

That a Turkish intellectual in US should think of reach this population is perfectly understandable from his point of view but not from our point of view. History has been preparing us for a historical role while we are reduced to being that group on which socialists, leftists, Marxists, liberals, democrats and seculars are having pity and those who would be lead by this group are preparing themselves to lead us.

A View about Indian Muslims

Tr : Think on a point - were Muslims slaves to Hindus for a millennium or was it the other way round?

Then what happened that our legs gave away and we started reatedly reciting, "If the British leave then we will be enslaved by Hindus?"

Even today our text books are filled with the same slogan and the statement has been attributed even to the Muslim League president.

The question is who taught us this cowardice and who sucked up our bravery?

With utmost regret we have to admit that this lack of courage, cowardice, lack of spirit and lack of manliness has to be attributed to aligarh from where future leadership of Indian Muslims was to come - the pivital idea of Sir Syed's thinking was to be slavish and subservient to the British .

And the lives of communities rests on bravery and not on cowardice. Why did we not thinkk that we ruled this country for a thousand years and that rule is about to come back to us and we have to get it back?

What should have happened is that legs of Hindus should have given away and they should have been scared that if the British leave then these Musallas will overwhelm us again. In fact this idea haunted Hindu mind like a spectre and the cure they found fo it was that they distanced themselves from us.

And this is no flight of fancy for amongst the Congress line up Sardar Patel was the first Hindu leader who came to the realization after formation of combined government that it is not possible to live with Muslims. After that he harboured the idea of partition in his ranks every moment leading to Gandhi and Nehru succumbing to his thinking.

It was owing to this that Maulana Azad was angry with Patel.

More Chilling Events in Sohrabuddin Fake Encounter Case

A Hindi commentator of left inclination writes:

Quote:

Tr : After reading this report in English the reader starts falling into such a dark well of fear when he can not hear his own scream.

The encounter was chilling. (Even today Wikipedia can not list as Sohrabuddin Fake Encounter Case - the page is called the Death of Sohrabudding Shaikh.)

The cover up was more so. The Judge presiding over the fake encounter case was murdered in most chilling circumstances concocted in a most chilling maneuver.

Here is the report from the OutLook magazine about the original event.

Quote:
Ahmedabad, Nov 26 (PTI) Wanted criminal Sohrabuddin Anwarhussain Sheikh allegedly having links with Lashkar-e-Taiba and ISI, who was in the city to kill a top political leader, was shot dead in an enounter with police early today in Narol area on the city outskirts, police said here.
Sheikh, a sharpshooter with underworld connections, had come to the city at the behest of LeT and ISI to assassinate a top political figure, Deputy Inspector General of Anti-Terrorist Squad, D G Vanjhara told reporters.
He said police were not aware of the specific target of the slain criminal but they had operated on the basis of intelligence inputs from Rajasthan police, who were also part of the encounter team that gunned him down.
As per information, the criminal was sent to seek help from the members of the erstwhile Abdul Latif gang, that operated in the city while backup support would be provided by LeT and ISI, Vanjhara said.
He said Sheikh was in Narol area of the city for the past few days and was coordinating his operations from there.
The criminal was also wanted in an arms smuggling case in Madhya Pradesh and for a murder case in Rajasthan.
The official said Sohrabuddin was known to be a close aide of Pakistan-based Sharif Khan and Rasool Parti, who are themselves henchmen of Dawood Ibrahim and were instrumental in the assassination bid on a BJP leader in Gujarat in the recent past, including the murder of former Home Minister Haren Pandya.

The accusations against Sohrabuddin were all made by the then DIG of ATS (Anti-Terrorist Squad) Mr DG Vanjhara. These accustions were most fluffy teddy bear without eyesing. These accusations had allegations of LeT, ISI and dawood Ibrahim connections, arms smuggling, murder of BJP leader and the then Gujarat Home Minister Haren Pandya, terrorism operations planning and being part of terrorist gangs. (The fake encounter specialist did not shy away from disproportionate magnitude of charges.)

Sohrabuddin was killed while he was in police custody. Police also alleged that they found an AK-47 rifle from his home in Madhya Pradesh.

Then most surprisingly, Advocate KTS Tulsi, the Gujarat government lawyer himself submitted to the Supreme Court of India that the encounter was fake.

Quote:
On Tuesday, the Gujarat police arrested its Deputy Inspector General (Border Range) D G Vanzara and Rajkumar Pandian, superintendent of police with the Intelligence Bureau, and M N Dinesh Kumar (Rajasthan police) on the charge of murdering Sohrabuddin Sheikh.

Sohrabuddin was killed by the Gujarat police in a fake encounter on November 26, 2005. None other than the Gujarat government has accepted this before the Supreme Court. The Gujarat government's lawyer A T S Tulsi told the court, 'The preliminary inquiry has found that it was a fake encounter.'

The sensation was monumental in itself.
Quote:
The sensational admission by the government itself has been intriguing because Vanzara was known as a favourite officer of Chief Minister Narendra Modi and state Home Minister Amit Shah.

In India police indulges encounter killing of criminals whom it is difficult to convict legally.

This particular encounter was not only extra-judicial but fake.

A BJP politician from neighbouring Rajasthan state, Gulab Chand Kataria, too was involved in the case.

Quote:
The CBI team headed by DIG P Kandaswamy and S P Amitabh Thakur, which submitted the report to SC on Friday evening, flew back to Ahmedabad.

In its action taken report, the agency is believed to have told the apex court that Sohrabuddin, his wife, Kauserbi, and Tulsiram Prajapati were all killed by the Gujarat police, on the orders of Shah.

Some police officers were arrested but many went scot-free. Bizarrely civil officers from Andhra Pradesh was found involved.

After many chilling twists and turns in between the latest news item exploaded on Indian conscience yesterday.

Quote:
On the morning of 1 December 2014, the family of 48-year-old judge Brijgopal Harkishan Loya, who was presiding over the Central Bureau of Investigation special court in Mumbai, was informed that he had died in Nagpur, where he had travelled for a colleague’s daughter’s wedding. Loya had been hearing one of the most high-profile cases in the country, involving the allegedly staged encounter killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh in 2005. The prime accused in the case was Amit Shah—Gujarat’s minister of state for home at the time of Sohrabuddin’s killing, and the Bharatiya Janata Party’s national president at the time of Loya’s death. The media reported that the judge had died of a heart attack.

My Dear Indian Brothers and Sisters,

A Muslim man is pulled out of his house and lynched to death just because he had a piece of meat in his fridge.

A Muslim youth is killed just because his appearance created a hate inside the hearts of the murderer.

A Muslim man is now axed and burnt to death, the episode recorded and uploaded on Social Media.

And this is just one of the umpteen number of incidences which have happened in the past three and a half years, in the most brazen fashion ever.

And yet, the Muslim community of India, has shown a tremendous patience and maturity in reacting to such situations.

You guys are the ones who are responsible for maintaining the peace and tranquility in India, at the moment.

I absolutely applaud the stoic resolve of my Muslim Brethren who have consistently resisted repeated attacks on their faith, on their eating habits, on their dress codes, on their appearances, on their names......day in day out, without getting inflamed by such acts.

We all know that this is being deliberately to get a rise out of the Muslims. One move and all hell will break lose.

One reaction and there will be blood on the streets of India.

Thats the plan and thats what they are waiting for.

I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for keeping your sanity intact.

I apologize to all of you that there is nothing much that I can do about this.

Like most of the other Indians, I am just another helpless guy, who can just stand and stare at whats happening around me, in my beautiful country, whose social fabric is being ripped apart as the idea of India gets raped everyday.

I am sorry that we have come to such a situation, where the Government has done absolutely nothing in curtailing these atrocities and infact their eternal silence on these issues is only encouraging the Hatemongers to run around with swords in their hands chanting "Jai Shri Ram" as if Lord Ram would have wanted this to happen.

Somewhere, somehow, I am complicit in the creation of this New India, either by keeping quiet or by turning a blind eye to the events which led to this situation.

Somewhere, somehow, I am personally responsible for this situation too.

But I can only hang my head in shame and apologize to all of you for what is happening, on a personal basis, because this is not a collective that I can be a part of.

I can only hope that the Muslims keep their belief in their faith intact and not fall prey to this nefarious plan which has emerged from one of the most devious minds ever.

My sincere love, apologies and salutes are the only things I can offer to you.

A Helpless Indian

Disclaimer: I was going to start this post by addressing it to the "Indian Muslims" but after what has happened in the past three years there is not an iota of doubt that they are more Indians than any of us and there cannot be a better proof of patriotism that they can give to anyone, not that they ever needed to.

A Reply on FB to Indian PM

Sanjiv Bhatt shared the following FB post.

(The Prime Minister asked as to what he had done to deserve the shabby treatment meted out to him publicly. The reference was to Congress Leader, now suspended, Mani Shankar Aiyar's comment that he is a low character person.)

Here is a brief list to answer your question Mister Prime Minister:

1. For destroying India's economy via Demonetisation and not taking responsibility for the damage it has done.

2. For destroying the traditional plural culture of our ancient land via organised polarisation - not just religious, but also regional, linguistic and cultural.

3. For destroying the profound teachings of Hinduism/ Sanatan Dharma by placing Savarkar's fascist Hindutva as Hinduism.

4. For continuing the charade of fake nationalism when your deeds and policies are only harming India.

5. For being a government - not of India - but of Hindutva forces, crony corporations and foreign vested interests - especially the Zionist global banking cartel.

6. For false promises and falsehoods which are being spread through multiple channels everyday.

7. For violating the principles of the Indian Constitution by introducing theocratic militant nationalism and anti-privacy/ anti-freedom Aadhaar.

8. For destroying the pillars of Democracy by de-fanging media and institutions - which are critical to offer any semblance of truth and justice.

9. For not listening to people and the diversity of voices - but to impose dictates via coercion and intimidation.

10. For being anti-intellectual and actively promoting the hatred of the learned and the educated.

11. For doing all the tricks in the book to curb dissent and freedom of expression.

12. For sinking all the human development indexes since 2014.

13. For waging a fake 'morality play 'of anti-corruption crusade when the real policies of the government point to the opposite direction.

14. For hiding from unscripted questions which the people want to ask you - no single press conference since you came to power.

15. For focussing on PR, publicity, events and propaganda, but not the real issues of the nation.

16. For ruining India's traditional 'non-aligned' foreign policy.

17. For instigating the ego - hate and greed - through your theatrical 'carrot and stick' speeches.

18. For surrounding yourself with sycophants who have no talent for governance.

19. For being obsessive about grandiose ideas/ misplaced priorities and failing to deliver.

20. For misunderstanding the meaning of 'development' by neglecting social justice.

21. For being pro-super-rich and putting the poor and the Middle class under the technocratic Neoliberal Economic policies which have hollowed out the West.

22. For raging a war against India via the toxic brew of Hindutva and Neoliberalism, and destroying the people's faith and trust upon the government.

And you ask, what I have done to deserve this?
