Definitely a good idea, the more resources for the language of the Qur'aan and Hadeeth the better. BUT...................

I agree with the BUT too. Its not gonna be easy.

I think Quranic Arabic for a start would be great, rather than learning fruits and numbers.

Plenty of numbers and fruits in the Qur'aan *grins*

Asslamo Allaikum,

Teach basic grammar and don't even think about the Qur'aan & Hadeeth YET. Because let me illustrate an example.

A basic nominal sentence in Arabic contains two parts (Mubtada & Khabar). Student is taught that Mubatada word is always definite (with AL) and Khabar is always indefinite (without AL) e.g.

المسجد كبير

Al-Masjidu (definite with an AL) = The Masjid

Kabeerun (indefinite without an AL)= Big

Translation = The Masjid is Big!

Student is taught that when you see two words which PERFECTLY MATCH they CANNOT be sentensce because Khabar is always indefinite

المسجد الكبير

Al-Masjidu (definite with an AL) = The Masjid

Al-Kabeeru (definite with an AL) = The Big

Translation = The Big Masjid! (Not a sentence, but a phrase!)

OR

مسجد كبير

Masjidun (indefinite without an AL) = A Masjid

Kabeerun (indefinite without an AL) = A Big

Translation = A Big Masjid! (Not a sentence, but a phrase!)

If the student thinks that they know sentensces because of doing drill after drill UNTIL they get to the first Hadeeth Tarkeeb book and the first Hadeeth of Rasul-ullah (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) taught says:

عن أبي تميم بن أوس رضي الله عنه ، أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال : ( الدين النصيحة ، قلنا : لمن يا رسول الله ؟ قال : لله ، ولكتابه ، ولرسوله ، ولأئمة المسلمين وعامتهم ) رواه البخاري و مسلم

So the Hadeeth is Authentic and the words are:

الدين النصيحة

Notice that both words are definite which breaks the "beginner rule"

Ad-Deenu (definite with an AL) = The Deen

An-Naseeha (definite with an AL) = The advice

Translation = The Deen, it is (sincere) advice (The comma is important to understand as that's how the Sahaba (RA) understood the words of our Nabi (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam))

So one of the most beautiful Hadeeth of our beloved Rasul-ullah (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) can turn into confusion in the hands of a laymen like me.

This Hadeeth is part of Imam Nawawi (RA)'s 40 Haeeth and the translation is:

'The Deen (religion) is naseehah (advice/sincerity)'. We (i.e. the Sahaba (RA)) said 'To whom?' He (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) said 'To Allah and His Book, and His Messenger, and to the leaders of the Muslims and their common folk.' [Related by Bukhari & Muslim]

Ummu-Talibin = Mudaf & Mudaf-Ileh combination which would mean "Mother of a Seeker"

Ummi-Talibin = My Mother of a Seeker

So which one is it? : - ) : - ) : - )

Lesson would be LIVE & AVAILABLE for anyone, Insha'Allah.
