Asalamu Alaikum, I have been getting texs recently and been greeted with the words "jumu'ah mubarak".

First of all it is imposible for any Muslim to find something about Islam which the Prophet or the Sahabas could not verify, because no one was more guided than they were. So it is actualy a act of bidat when someone greets another with the words 'jumuah mubarak'.
Maulana Shah Hakeem Muhammad Akhtar Saheb wrote in one of his book that there was a person who made it farz upon himself to do durood shareef this number of times a day and he made his own rulling that if he does not do it for even one day, he is no longer a Muslim. Shaikh Akhtar Saheb said such a person will be put into judje by Allah in the day of judgement. It is bidah to do something like this whether it is:

*   ACTS OF WORSHIP.
*   FORMS OF REMEMBERENCE OF ALLAH.
*   NEW BELIEF SYSTEM.

Shaykh ibn Fawzaan(May Allah preserve him)was asked:What is the rulling on sending text messages every Friday and ending with the phrase "jumu'ah mubaarak"

He replied:The early generation did not congratulate one another on Fridays, so we should not introduce anything that they did not do.
