100. Muhammad said, "Abu Hanifah informed us saying, 'Abu Ja'far narrated to us saying, "The Messenger of Allah (salallahu 'alahyi wa sallam) used to pray thirteen rak'ahs between prayer of Isha and thr Fajr: eight supererogatory rak'ahs, three rak'ahs of witr and two rak'ahs of Fajr."'"

101. Muhammad said, "Abu Hanifah informed us that Husayn ibn Abdur Rahman said, 'Abdullah ibn Umar رضي الله عنه used to pray supererogatory prayers on his mount in what ever direction it would turn with him. Then when it was the obligatory prayer or the witr he would dismount and pray.'"

Muhammad said, "We adhere to this and this was the verdict of Abu Hanifah, may Allah, exalted is He, have mercy on him."

102. Muhammad said, "Abu Hanifah informed us from Hammad that Ibrahim said concerning a man who joined people in prayer without intending [the obligatory prayer], 'It is a supererogotary prayer.'"

Muhammad said, "We adhere to this and this. He only meant by that if someone had already prayed the prayer in his house and then came and joined the people in their prayer, that his prayer along with them is supererogatory. That is the verdict of Abu Hanifah, may Allah, exalted is He, have mercy on him."

103. Muhammad said, "Abu Hanifah informed us from Hammad that Ibrahim used to lead them in prayer standing to the left of the mihrab or to its right."

Muhammad said, "As for us, we see no harm in standing in front of the mihrab as long as one does not enter it, if one stands outside it and prostrates within it. That is the verdict of Abu Hanifah, may Allah, exalted is He, have mercy on him."

34. THE IMAM SAYING THE SALAAM AND HIS SITTING

104. Muhammad said, "Abu Hanifah informed us from Hammad that Ibrahim said, 'When the imam says the salaam do not move away until the imam gets up from his place, unless the imam has no fiqh.'"

Muhammad said, "We adhere to this because one does not know whether or not he may have to do the two prostrations of forgetfulness. If the imam is someone who does not know the fiqh of the prayer there is no harm in getting and leaving. That is the verdict of Abu Hanifah."

105. Muhammad said, "Abu Hanifah informed us from Hammad from Abu'd-Duha from Masruq that when Abu Bakr as-Siddiq رضي الله عنه said the salaam after the prayer he used to be as if he were sitting on hot stones until he had moved from his place."

Muhammad said, "We adhere to this and this was the verdict of Abu Hanifah, may Allah, exalted is He, have mercy on him."

106. Muhammad said, "Abu Hanifah informed us from Hammad that Ibrahim said concerning a man who prays in a narrow place such that he is unable to sit on his left side, or in the case where he is ailing, 'Then let him sit on his right side, and if he is able let him sit on his left side.'"

Muhammad said, "We adhere to this and this was the verdict of Abu Hanifah, may Allah, exalted is He, have mercy on him."

107. Muhammad said, "Abu Hanifah informed us from Hammad that Ibrahim said, 'If a man is ailing let him sit in the prayer however he wants.'"

Muhammad said, "We adhere to this, if his illness prevents him from the sitting posture in the prayer that is commanded. That is the verdict of Abu Hanifah, may Allah, exalted is He, have mercy on him."

109. Muhammad said, "Abu Hanifah informed us from Hammad that Ibrahim said, ' there are four before Zuhr and four after the Jummu'ah which one does not separate with a salaam.'"

112. Muhammad said, "Abu Hanifah informed us saying, "Alqamah ibn Marthad narrated to us from Ali [ibn al-Aqmar] from Humraan. (Ali] said, "Ibn Umar رضي الله عنه was never to be seen narrating but that Humraan was one of the closest people to him in the assembly." [Ali} said, "So he said to him one day, 'I think that you cling so close to us that we can bring you some good.'
He said, 'Of course, Abu Abd ar-Rahman .'
He said, 'Watch out for the three things, two of which I forbid you and one of which I command you to do.'
He asked, 'What are they Abu Abd ar-Rahman?' He said, 'Do not die owing a debt except for which you leave payment. Never repudiate a child of yours, because in retaliation he will make you notorious for it on the day of rising just as you gave him notoriety in the world. Your lord does not wrong anyone. Take care of two rak'ahs of Fajr and do not give them up because they are of the highly desired matters.'"'"
