No akhi.
Enemies are expected to collude against you.
The tragedy occurs when you refuse acknowledge that there are enemies.
So it was not a calamity when west organised itself against us.
The calamity was when we failed to notice and defend ourselves.
One of the things we painfully learned on Sunni Forum was that internet communication is a bit difficult.
You simply get no inclination about the emotional content of a post, even after liberal use of emoticons.
We are already aware in daily life that communication is always tricky.
Internet only makes it worse.
We have our weaknesses.
So do have others.
Mostly our attitude towards weakness is the following.
Everyone should ignore and look over my weaknesses.
I will not forgive even slightest weakness in other, I have high principles.
Above paradigm is only one of the so many paradigms that operate together in our interaction with others, on internet as well as in real life.
There is an obvious unjust bias in the above paradigm.
Yet we are most of the time not aware of our own bias.
And as mentioned above this is only one of the paradigms.
Clearly we have a problem at our hands.
Yet we have the duty to work for the Ummah of our beloved Prophet (PBUH).
This task has to be done in spite of all the hurdles we face.
Time and again it has dawned upon this sinner that all of the Ibaad, Servents of Allah, do better than this lowly self in managing these issues.
On one hand this is most humbling while on the other hand this is a painful realization that this lowly self can not do as much as others.
Even in this there is this pleasant feeling that at least some people still keep doing their bit.
My salute to all these brothers and sisters.
Personally I most of the time cut only a sorry figure on these issues where it is meant to do some service to Ummah.
That brings me to the matter relating to brother BHAII.
He has to sort out the issue of how to approach others while discussing issues of Ummah.
They all are human and have corresponsing sensitivities.
This is just one problem and this has to be navigated.
I most of the time find myself caught in the same problem every moment of my life.
Every step is a struggle, even moment is so.
It is difficult, painful and so frustrating.
But the option to give up is simply not there.
Another painful realization is the following - our problem are simply too overwhelming to be managed by us.
Allah swt is simply dumping overloads on us.
We may not like it but at least to me this is how the things look like.
And as I said above - the option to give up is simply not there.

Our Elders simply do not talk about specifics of these problems of worldly type that we face.
Many of us turn away from Elders because of this.
Some are irritated and frustrated with them.
But it is clear as daylight that it does not help at all.
They must have gone through all the frustration that we are going through.
After that only they must have given up.
***
Our theological intellectuals fair similarly on the worldly issues that we face.
But they took the task preserving the teachings of Islam upon themselves and they have done thei job rather well.
There are failures on their part too and these failures are serious ones but our own failures are even worse.
We, the worldly kind of people, should have solved the worldly problems of Ummah.
We have not.
***
I shall mention one more painful realization.
When someone points out a weakness of ours it is extremely unsettling.
It is so difficult to take on chin.
I personally keep struggling with that.
I suppose this will be the same with many others.
***
Yet we do not have the option to give up and we must keep doing our bit.
Luckily we are not responsible beyond our capabilities.
Unfortunately success comes only after Allah swt's help arrives.
Much after our efforts have dissolved into thin air.
***
That is how I understand the things.
Brothers or sisters having better clues about these issues may kindly enlighten us further.
Personally I get enormous amount of Taqwiat from everybody.
Just met Professor Saud Alam Qasmi in connection with my under progress book on Orientalism. He is at present Chairperson of the Department of Sunni Theology, Aligarh Muslim University. Though a graduate of the Darul Uloom, Deoband he is a Jama-at-e-Islami worker. He usually treats this sinner both affectionately as well as regard though he is much senior person. In this meeting too he was of very encouraging disposition as well as full of optimism.
I am just asking the question, not proposing a solution.
I was pleasantly surprised to find a statement in Samuel Huntington's The Clash of Civilizations that the USA as a superpower is declining. Now that book is more than two decades old. We should have noticed that decline by now ourselves.
We have one additional indication of that decline.
In Syria Russia looked more assertive than USA.
That gives a clear clue about US military health.
Some how I still do not see the end of our problems.
I am talking about those problems that owe their existence to the west.
Yet the other data, decline of the USA, should not be ignored.
I suppose we can switch into a positive mood and start talking about devising the ways to bring Muslim Ummah out of present miserable condition.
We can think the ways to do that only if we join our heads together.
A neo-con, neo-conservative, are the political thinkers in the US who, beginning in the sixties of the last century, thought that the US should was losing her colonial grip and should tighten it and use raw force to keep her hold on world power.
When you take the oriental branch of colonialism you get some idea about the vice that the Muslim world faced from US.
In particular the disaster they wreaked in Iraq, just to name one of the many horrifiq examples.
But suddenly they seems to have disappeared from the forefront of political game plan in the US.
Last time I remember Charles Krauthammer not being serious about the war - waging the war in Afghanistan.
We can not afford to be lax when you keep a watch on the residual orientalism but all the same there seems to be a lull for good in the neo-con group.
If this is true then this will, post facto, be amongst the biggest achievements of Barack H. Obama.
The western media will not tell us this - I am.
Unfortunatley it seems the NeoCons in their war against muslims have switched tactics and funding deviants from every avenue to try and dismantle Islam... Here is the latest Joker who has produced his own version of the Quran... www.theguardian.com/books/2016/jul/04/rewriting-the-quran...
La Hawla Wala quwwata Illah Billah.
We have others who were several decades ago defending Islam but have fallen to the Propaganda or seduced by the wealth and fame on offer and are now working ardently against Islam. It is difficult not to feel despondent, we are being attacked from all fronts with a Tsunami of propaganda, It is harder knowing towards which propaganda to mount a defence against.
HabunAllah Wa Nimal wakeel.
May Allah have mercy upon us, and protect the Imaan of our future generations ameen.
Professor C. Christine Fair, author of Fighting to the End: The Pakistan Army's Way of War, give the most shabby treatment to a Pakistani Full Bright scholar. It is really astounding that she was allowed to get away with that.
And brothers do not be smug that it did not happen to you.
Forgive my insolence. The tone of the author was certainly a little disrespectful, but did her answer carry factual weight? Or, is the narrative of the pakistani caller more factually correct? I ask out of genuine ignorance.
One of the things she says is that Pakistan kept cuddling up with Mujahideen even after the US had stopped engaging with them and hence Pakistan has no business criticizing the US.
This is problematic. The Mujahideen are good people as long as US needs them. After that they are terrorists and no one should be seen talking to them.
They began their monsoon session by arranging a sermon by a naked man.
No kidding, no metaphor, no exaggeration, no euphemism.
The sermonizer was a Jain Muni, Tarun Sagar. A Muni is a sage.
And this sect has them naked.
Jainism is religion different from Hinduism.
Buddhism, Jainism and Ajivak Dharma were born in India about more than two millenia ago as a reaction to the corruption that had set in the main religious stream - the Hinduism.
Then the empire hit back.
It completely obliterated Ajivaka Dharma. You do not hear of that today.
It completely banished Buddhism.
It decimated, greatly reduced, the Jain Dharma.
That saga is a sordid one, a story seldom narrated today.
So much so that Jainism today behaves as a sect of Hinduism.
About foundred years ago Sikhism was born in India as a reaction to the advent of Islam, to defend Hinduism.
But Sikhs today simply do not accept as being part of Hinduism.
Thus the majority community today has no fears of Jains.
And no qualms to call their sages as chief guests on the opening day of assembly, state parliament, session.
And there is nothing odd about it.
The odd thing is still called Islam.
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
