I read the whole thing before opening image. It was expected though. I too cannot stand apple. You pay hundreds but they still control it, what it can have and how you use it. Rotten Apple

Actually, I'm having doubts about apples.

1, it was the apple that shaytan used to get Adam (as) out of his abode.

2, it was the apple that got Thabit married to the mother of Imam Abu Hanifa.

3, it was the apple that broke my tooth as a kid.

4, it is Apple that Mufti Abdur Rahman ibn Yusuf said that its like a whole new religion.

5, an apple a day helps you work rest and play. But we don't have time to rest and play, our destination asks for other pre requisites.

Can you imagine the pros and cons of Apple.

Better to be safe than sorry.

Good bye Apple.

But what is the reason behind the Apple name and Apple logo? Is it really the forbidden (bitten) apple? Why does everything made by them have an "i" before it? Is it coz it sounds like "eye" - dajjal?

eyeMac, eyePod, eyePad, eyePhone

Hmm, conspiracies... I'm sure iRizMalek can shed some light on it?

I'm joking. I liked the iphone for about a week or two as well, I remember the warm feelings.

So the whole forbidden apple is a myth then. The apple is a reference to Newton discovering 'gravity' by an apple falling on his head and giving him a PHD.

iNow iTo iFind iOut iWhy iEverything iApple iHas iAn iI iBefore iIt

-- just checked it up

Quote:
It started with iMac, which was named for it's easy access to the Internet at a time when other computers required rather elaborate set ups. Apple discovered that there was an element of "coolness" in the name & used it for other products & software (iTunes, or iPhoto, the photo program bundled with Mac software, for instance.)

According to Wired, a guy who helps companies name products "said the name is a stroke of genius: It is simple, memorable and, crucially, it doesn't describe the device, so it can still be used as the technology evolves, even if the device's function changes. He noted the 'i' prefix has a double meaning: It can mean 'internet,' as in 'iMac,"' or it can denote the first person: 'I,' as in me."

According to the same article, Vinnie Chieco, the guy who came up with the name iPod" kept thinking about Steve Jobs strategy that "The Mac is a hub, or central connection point, for a host of gadgets." So

Quote:

This prompted Chieco to start thinking about hubs: objects that other things connect to.
The ultimate hub, Chieco figured, would be a spaceship. You could leave the spaceship in a smaller vessel, a pod, but you'd have to return to the mother ship to refuel and get food. Then Chieco was shown a prototype iPod, with its stark white plastic front.
"As soon as I saw the white iPod, I thought 2001," said Chieco. "Open the pod bay door, Hal!"
Then it was just a matter of adding the "i" prefix, as in "iMac."...A source at Apple confirmed Chieco's story.

Bought two of my dear family members an iPhone, they kept going on about how great it was and how it would bring them much convenience. Paid an arm and a leg for them, then silly me settled for a HTC , as I started struggling with HTC phone memory and noticed how good the iPhone was, I hinted to my dear family members how I also wouldn't mind being convenience by an iPhone, unfortunately no hints were acknowledged. What a mug, moral: do for yourself first what you would do for others.

From a very dissatisfied Apple iPhone non-owner!
