Often we are asked about why we make the decision we do, then we get asked questions like, "How long is a piece of string" or "Is the glass half full or half empty"

This is my personal response to the glass query ;)

The glass is half full if the glass was only ever filled halfway.

The glass is half empty when it was full in the first place and half was removed.

The glass is half full if only half was filled. (repeat)

So, I'm I an optimist or pessimist?

My answers are straight forward. I say it how it is. If I don't know, I enquire. And I'm pretty sure there are many more ways of defining the glass :)

How long is a piece of string?

My response, show me the string in question :)

Depends on the glass as well. A small full glass can hold less than a big half filled glass.

Then you are talking about two different sizes of glass.

A small glass that is only filled halfway is only half full. Yet if the small glass is filled to the rim and then emptied halfway, only then does it become half empty :)

When I was young, I had a cup/mug for tea.

It was called, "The half cup of tea" because it was not fully circular, it was a semi circular shape, i.e. One side was rounded whilst the other was flat, hence, half a cup ;)

Now if that cup was filled to the rim, would it be half full or full? ;)

Haha, I like that.

The same as your answers above, but if full, it would still be half of a cup, that is full. :)

Try to only fill one third with food, one third with water and leave one third for air and you'll be practicing upon the Hadith :)

This post has been reported. It could be due to breaking rules or something as simple as bad use of bbcodes which breaks the page format. We will attend to this soon.
