This excerpt is from Maulana Idris Kandhlawi Rahimahullah's book, Siratul Mustafa. The reason I'm posting this is not to reject the diversity of dress from what the Ulama have explained that is within the boundaries of the Shari'ah, but because of what I've heard by some in western countries who seem to downplay the importance of Islamic dress, more importantly those aspects of dress that have been established in the Shari'ah.
I'm working on getting the mu'tamid opinions about this issue from the other three respected madhahib but, until that time comes insha'Allah, this will have to do.
I request the respected brothers Dr76, london, and Desi tadka to 'eat this up' and spread the word...
Yes that book was compiled in a beautiful way as it speaks in detail about color of turban, vegetables that Nabi AS had, etc. Masha Allah, I do have one.
I recommend everyone to get a copy. You cant find that in India - its not in Chennai and I searched in Mumbai Mohamed Ali Road book stalls - NO LUCK. Finally bought it in US.
