Why is it always the case that we find those that are the celebrities by western standards appealing to our hearts, even though their very occupation is in conflict with the mizaj of deen and sahaba. I am by no means judging Abu Diaby, but I think it shows a weakness of our iman and our love of dunya (in reference to the vid making the round on whats app). It's similar to the multitude of videos you find on the internet about a particular celebrity accepting islam, and this for some reason boosts our iman.
There are many reasons, now whether you take the positives from it or the negatives, that's down to you individually.
Let me put in simple words for you, he's a footballer at a big London club, he's praying Quran, with awesome tajweed, isn't that amazing that he's still in touch with the Deen somewhat despite having all the fame and glory, Islam isn't just for the weak and oppressed but for all.
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
