I will continue to engage these 2 who will continue to insult instead of answering questions! Here is a discussion between me & 2 local Muslim Brothers on this Bayan on the 7th of August 2015

Brother 1: Who is an Amil in India/Pakistan?

Muadh Khan: It is a common Urdu word for someone deals with effects of Black Magic, Jinn etc.

Brother 2: Is this matter Halal or Haram?

Muadh Khan: Could be Halal or could be Haram depending on the tactics.

Brother 1: Explain what you are saying?

Muadh Khan:  Treatment of human ailments (physical and spiritual) are based on experience of the physician. To this day Medical Science advances because some Doctor somewhere tries a treatment with a different dosage or in combination with another medicine etc. He then writes about it and informs other physicians.  You perform Hijama as you have learned from your teacher. However, over time you will learn that for Back Pain Hijama at a particular spot is beneficial and you will incorporate your experience. What did your teacher teach you in Hijama? Did he not discuss experience upon experience of earlier generations in treatment?

Brother 1: But the cure is in the Qur'aan and Sunnah isn't it?

Muadh Khan:  Absolutely! But over time people develop certain verses or certain recitation with experience which is beneficial for certain ailment. This is personal experience and passed down to students.

Brother 2: Allah (SWT) has placed cure for everything in Surah Al-Fatiha, No?

Muadh Khan:  Absolutely!  But tell me as to why you go to a Doctor for your physical ailment? Why don’t you recite Surah Al-Fatiha (alone) 7 times instead of surgeries? Don’t you seek the best treatment for your ailment alongside Dua, Sadaqa and Surah Al-Fatiha 7 times? I have not come across any Hadeeth which says Surah Al-Fatiha 7 times is for Jinn/Black Magic but not for Diabetes? Why do you take Insulin then???

Brother 1: Where is the evidence that an Amil or Raqi or Physician can recite Qur'aan according to experience?

Muadh Khan: This Sahabi ACTED first and THEN consulted Nabi ()ï·º, what does this tell you???

Narrated Abu Sa`id: Some of the companions of the Prophet (ï·º) went on a journey till they reached some of the 'Arab tribes (at night). They asked the latter to treat them as their guests but they refused. The chief of that tribe was then bitten by a snake (or stung by a scorpion) and they tried their best to cure him but in vain. Some of them said (to the others), "Nothing has benefited him, will you go to the people who resided here at night, it may be that some of them might possess something (as treatment)," They went to the group of the companions (of the Prophet (ï·º) ) and said, "Our chief has been bitten by a snake (or stung by a scorpion) and we have tried everything but he has not benefited. Have you got anything (useful)?" One of them replied, "Yes, by Allah! I can recite a Ruqya, but as you have refused to accept us as your guests, I will not recite the Ruqya for you unless you fix for us some wages for it." They agrees to pay them a flock of sheep. One of them then went and recited (Surat-ul-Fatiha): 'All the praises are for the Lord of the Worlds' and puffed over the chief who became all right as if he was released from a chain, and got up and started walking, showing no signs of sickness. They paid them what they agreed to pay. Some of them (i.e. the companions) then suggested to divide their earnings among themselves, but the one who performed the recitation said, "Do not divide them till we go to the Prophet (ï·º) and narrate the whole story to him, and wait for his order." So, they went to Allah's Messenger (ï·º) and narrated the story. Allah's Messenger (ï·º) asked, "How did you come to know that Suratul- Fatiha was recited as Ruqya?" Then he added, "You have done the right thing. Divide (what you have earned) and assign a share for me as well." The Prophet (ï·º) smiled thereupon. [Bukhari]

Brother 2:  But we know that Ayaat and Ahadeeth for dealing with Black Magic and Jinn possession etc?

Muadh Khan:  Absolutely!   YET you have thousands affected and not getting cured so which logical conclusion would you like to take?

  1. The verses of the Qur’aan are not strong?
  2. The Patient doesn’t know how to use them?
  3. The practitioner doesn’t know how to use them?

Brother 2:  What is your opinion on numbers and symbols etc?

Muadh Khan:  My limited research tells me that Magic is highly dependent on numbers and symbols so I avoid them.

Brother 1:  Why did the Ulama of the past use these numbers instead of Qur’aan then?

Muadh Khan:  Mystery to me because we recite the Qur’aan with Basmalah and not 786!

Brother 2:  So are all these Amils correct and effective?

Muadh Khan:  Neither to both of these questions! In fact a large number of them are dodgy with weakness in Aqeedah, tactics and methodology. Some may be correct but may not be effective.

Brother 1: Example?

Muadh Khan:  I went to London, personally spoke to Shaykh ben Halima, spoke to his students observed them for considerable time and I DID NOT find a single act which (personally in my limited knowledge) could say to be against the Sunnah. I have no idea if his treatement is effective OR not, that's a different matter. Are all Doctors effective?

Brother 2:  Have you heard the Bayan by Mufti Taqri Masood (HA)?

Muadh Khan:  I happen to know about his family links and why he says what he say. I will not backbite him in front of anyone but his views are coloured about the matter.

Brother 1:  Isn't this what a Mufti is supposed to say?

Muadh Khan:  No, I think that a Mufti is supposed to rise above personal issues and give a ruling based on Qur’aan and Sunnah no matter what his personal allegiances and experiences prompt him to do.

It is also clear that Mufti Saheb (HA) doesn’t have a knowledge of spirituality and Amaliyaat at all. In the olden days a Mufti would simply refuse to give a Fatwa about a science he doesn’t understand. This field of Tassawuff & Amaliyyat has declined much more compared to any other fields in the Deobandees. You have Deobandi Ulama (influenced by Shaykh Bin Baz (RA) and others) giving Fatwaas on matters which their teachers used to do. Read the books of Shah Wailullah (RA) and see what he writes about these matters, how am I supposed to dismiss the actions of Shah Wailullah (RA) and his family?

I admit that I witness the bad and excesses in Tassawuff with my own 2 eyes BUT how am I supposed to discard an entire science based on my experience and knowledge which Ulama (of the past) much higher in Taqwa and knowledge practised and I know this for certain.

Same for Amils, how are we supposed to throw the whole science and every practitioner out of the Window just because many (or even most) are corrupt?

You have YET to answer any questions and have nothing to say except insults, taunting and disrespect. You cannot even bring yourself to act on the Fatwa which you are defending.
