As-salaamu'alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh

Perhaps the title of this post really should read, 'The psychology within hadith'.

The various sciences are but a drop in the ocean of knowledge preserved within the noble words of Rasoolullah.

Certainly the ahadith are so comprehensive, that we are, in reality, unable to fully appreciate the breadth and depth of their meaning.

This hadith dars was delivered by Shaykh Riyadh-ul-Haq during Ramadaan last year (2008).

He comments on the following ahadith, shedding much light on the inner workings of the mind:
  1. Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "The signs of a hypocrite are three: 1. Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie. 2. Whenever he promises, he always breaks it (his promise ). 3. If you trust him, he proves to be dishonest. (If you keep something as a trust with him, he will not return it.)"
    Bukhari

  2. Ibn Mas'ud reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Truthfulness leads to piety and piety leads to the Garden. A man should be truthful until he is written down as truthful in the sight of Allah. Lying leads to deviance and deviance leads to the Fire. A person lies to the point that he is written down as a liar in the sight of Allah."

Please click the 'play' button on the player console. The audio quality is not as high as it normally would be for an AKA Production - since it was a Radio Ramadaan broadcast - but it's still relatively clear, alhamdulillah.

May Allah protect us all from hypocrisy and the evils of lying. Aaameeen !
