Mufti Rafi sb has been touring the UK over the last week or so pushing for unity amongst the different sects. His main message being, not to attach labels to yourself or express your maslak without need, e.g. calling one's self Zaid al-Deobandi or Bakr al-Salafi, etc and overlooking sectarian schisms in common causes.
His message has had a mixed response from Deobandis, with some agreeing, others saying people should be proud of their affiliation to the maslak of Deoband (whatever that is) ad not hide it, and some saying it's a good start but it needs to go further. What does everyone think?
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
