Lovely thread....look forward to reading more. We stopped over Jordan in hope to visit the holy site, but due to lack of organization in timing of flights and travel we didn't make it.
Missed opportunity :(

Alhumdulilah they do not interrogate you as much if you travel in group or as families.
Most they do is make you wait for few hours, after asking your father & grandfather name, taking your number & email address they let you go.
Rarely they take someone inside & interrogate more, in my experience with a group.
If you are with family & kids they usually give you visa very quickly.
But I have heard some people have been sent back, who they perceive as security threat.
Overall this should not put you off visiting Al Aqsa, its just amazing experience & very spiritual.
