Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

Just returned from Jerusalem after visiting Masjid Aqsa and other Holy sites. I had researched many sites, books, blogs and articles and found a serious lack of information for Muslims so:

  1. I decided to go alone (not recommended at all, very bad idea)
  2. I decided to go to Tel-Aviv instead of usual route of Jordan
  3. I decided to visit as many sites (Christianity, Judaism) as possible
  4. I visited Palestinian cities which many Muslims don't visit
  5. I drove around Israeli settlements, got stopped, interrogated multiple times, body searched, scanned, ran over Isareli checkpoint

Complete and deetailed writeup to follow to assist other Muslims visiting Masjid Aqsa Shareef and get the ground reality from an Islamic perspective.

New found respect for South African Brothers. Palestinians are very familiar with South Africans who interact directly with Muslims helping them with their needs.

Second is British Brothers

Everywhere you go you get mistaken for South African or British!

Repeatedly got told that South Africans and British Muslims.

Special praise from Palestinians for Pakistanees & Turks.

Seriously impressed by South Africans.

One Brother told me that a South African was deported the 3rd time from Tel-Aviv Airport and he was in tears but said that he will keep coming again and again.

A South African Maulana yesterday was massaging the feet of a Palestinian Old man in Masjid Aqsa (saw it with my own eyes). He didn't want to talk to me but I kind of forced him to reveal his Nationality.

Masjid Aqsa is still run pretty much along Ottoman lines and majority of people praying and Imam are either Shaf'ae or Hanafi. Special print edition of Qur'aans in Masjid Aqsa

First and the original Mosque where Sayyidina Umar (RA) prayed BEFORE he entered Jerusalem this is 17 KM outside in Bethlehem

Unable to find this in any guide book, blog or wesbite. He prayed inside this door and the old domes are still here; new (big Masjid) behind it

I am desperatedly looking for information about this for my article!

salaam brother, in the dome of the rock, there is a stone under the gold dome in a cupboard, people say the prophets (saw) foot prints are on it and when you wipe your hand on it it smells nice. When I used my flash light to see inside I didn’t see a foot print but a stone like marble. Do you know if that story was authentic. I'll try and upload some pictures later, IA.

beautiful place and would love to go again. I went through Jordan, you gotta be crazy to go through Israel.

Edit: the photos I have are 6.2Meg and too large to upload, I'll see what can be done.

Edit again:had to use painbrush to copy and upload

Assalam o Alaikum brother.

Very good post , got registered just after reading the title, hope there will be some learning for me at this forum. If i remember correctly(although was a silent user there) you were using some nick of colonel in another forum. I read some of your posts there and mashallah learned a lot from them.

i wonder other people with similar nicks are same people who were active in the other forum.

I am a very old reader of mufti says but only visit the link related with harmain updates, just today scrolled to other section after many years. May ALLAH give you all jazaikhayr for all the work.

Duao ki darkhast

Salam brother Muadh. I have some questions for you.

What was your experience of the Israeli authorities ??

Whilst entering Al-Aqsa, did the guards test you on any Surahs etc ??

How do they treat locals in comparison to foreigners ? How did the local yahooud come across to you or do most people mind their own business ?

Did you get followed/tailed ? Security must be really heavy now due to the Syrian war.

What did you eat out there, plus is food cheap ?

London has a large community of Yahoudis in various areas, however majority mind their own business. Only once I can say I could feel/see the hatred in one yahoudis eyes and that was a one off whilst travelling through Doha airport.

Looking forward to the updates
