I thought it would be nice to have a topic on intresting facts of deen. A maulana once said this in his bayaan regarding wudhu which i found very intresting.

Wudhu should be done with clean water.

Three things determine whether water is clean:

  1. color
  2. taste
  3. smell

When we start our wudhu we start off by washing our hands, which determines whether the color is correct.

Then we go on to gargling which shows whether the taste is correct

Thereafter we wash our nose and see whether the smell is correct and then you start your fardhs of wudhu.

So while your doing your wudhu the same time your seeing whether the water is clean. SubhanAllah

See the Makkah news thread or the qibla direction thread for an.interesting fact on how to find qibla direction on a particular day and at a particular time.

This Sunday, the sun will be directly above the kabah, so at that moment in time, we, in London, can determine the exact direction of the qibla by looking at the shadow. This phenomenon only takes place.twice a year.

There has been many pharoahs in the past, but obvisosuly the most famous one is the pharoah of musa (Alayhi salam). Shocking to find out his real name was Waleed bin mus`ab, such a beautiful name but luckly his not known by that name. He passed way around the age of 400 years old.

Wow, that is interesting.

When I bought my Khalid bin waleed book, I thought about doing a thread on "Real Names".

It was very interesting to see and read the names of those we know by other titles.

Abu hikmah, (i think) real name umer but known to us as Abu Jahal.

Father if the wise became father of the ignorant.

The prophet yacoub (Alayhi salam) was a twin. He had a twin brother called عيسو. The name yacoub means the one that comes afterwards.

I got this from a book called scattered pearls. It is full of intresting facts. It is actually the notes of maulana yunus palanpuri. Its a highly recommanded book. Only one part has been transalted in english but i think it comes in eight or nine parts in urdu.

Prophet Adam (as) and his wife had 40 children, 20 sets of twins. One boy one girl.

The sharia was that they could not marry their twin. They married someone else's twin and this is how the population grew.

Interesting.

Adam Alayhis salam was about 30 Ziraas tall. 1 Ziraa is approximately half a metre, so he was about 15 metres tall.

Majority of muslims do not live in the middle East. The most populous muslim country is Indonesia, the 4th largest country in the world with 184 million muslims

There are more muslims in India than the combined population of Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Palestine and the whole of the Arabian Peninsula.
