I've voted but I won't say who and why just yet. I actually want to hear what others have to say first.

The most noble person after the Prophets (عليهم السلام) is Abu Bakr (رضي الله عنه), the Most Truthful (as-Siddeeq).

The Messenger of Allah (صلي الله عليه وسلم) said, "The sun has neither risen nor set on anyone after the Prophets and Messengers superior to Abu Bakr." (Recorded in Kans al-'Ummal 36112 from the accounts of Ibn 'Asakir with a slight variation. Also recorded al an-Musnad al-Jami' 11069 from the Musnad of 'Abd ibn Humayd on the authority of Abu'l-Darda)

Of course, we love all of the Companions (رضي الله عنهم أجمعين), and we do not mention any of them except by way of praise.

^ Very good post above this
I had to vote "OTHERS" as there was no option for "ALL"

Many people have natural inclinations towards certain Sahaabah for their qualities or their admiration by the Prophet (saw). They name their children those names because of that specific connection to the Sahaabi and his qualities. For me, I genuinely couldn't pick one in comparison to another when I read the list, sort of felt like injustice but that's just me, everyone is different and should all have valid reasons to make their choices. Regardless, I think that as a spontaneous answer I'd probably say Umar (RA) or Khalid Bin Walid (RA) without realising.

They all are Unique.

Few things i like in Umar(R.A

The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu 'alaihi wa Sallam) also had a deep love for him. Once he remarked, "were a prophet to come after me, he would have been Umar". In another Hadith mentioned in Bukhari, Hadrat Abu Hurairah (R.A.) narrated that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu'alaihi wa Sallam) said, "In Bani Isra'il (Israelites) there were people who were not prophets but talked to Allah. Were anyone in my Ummah (people) like those persons, he would be Umar".
He was a very pious Muslim. His success lay in two things-fear of Allah and his love for the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu 'alaihi wa Sallam). Hadrat Umar was the most just ruler in the Islamic History. All the citizens, including the Caliph himself, were equal before law. Once he appeared before a court at Medina to clarify his position against a complaint. The Qadi (Judge) wanted to stand in his honour, but he did not allow him to do so, so that there would be no distinction between him and an ordinary person before Law. He was really the founder of modern democratic system.
In short he was the best example of an ideal character, and was the greatest "Khalifah" of Islam .He selflessly devoted his whole energy for the cause of Islam. Muslims will always be indebted to him for his great achievements.

Ahad"-The One (Allah). "Ahad"-The One (Allah).

He was whipped at night and with the cuts thus received, made to lie on the burning ground during the day to make him either forsake Islam or to die a lingering death from wounds. The torturers would get tired and take turns (Abu Jahl, Umayyah and others) and vie with one another in afflicting more and more painful punishment, but Bilal (Radhiyallahu 'anhu) would not yield. At last Abu Bakr (Radhiyallahu 'anhu) bought his freedom, and he became a free Muslim.

"Ahad" (The One), "Ahad" (The One).

This shows his love and devotion to Allah. Allah was so dear to him that no amount of persecution could distract him from reciting His Holy name. It is said that the urchins of Mecca would drag him in the streets, with his words "Ahad!, Ahad!" ringing in their wake.

Look how Allah rewarded his steadfastness! He was to have the honour of becoming the Prophet's muadhin. He was always to remain with him at home and abroad to call out the Adhaan for his Salaat.

My love and respect to you dear Bilal and all the rest.

MashaAllah, to be able to relate to a Sahaba is truly awesome. No matter how small it may be.

May Allah reward you for your efforts. My love for the brothers and sisters on this site continues to grow for the pleasure of Allah.
