Tuhfat al-Mujahidin fi baâ€˜d Akhbar al-Burtughaliyin' (often shortened as 'Tuhfat al-Mujahidin') is a historical work by Zainuddin Makhdoom on the struggle between the Mappila Muslims of Malabar and Portuguese colonial forces in the 16th-century. The book describes the resistance put up by the navy of Kunjali Marakkar alongside the Zamorin of Calicut from 1498 to 1583 against Portuguese attempts to colonize the Malabar coast .

Along with chronological events of the era, the book also provides an analysis of the events, as well as the lifestyle, customs and family structure of the people of the time.

Regarding the religion referred to as `Hinduism', JAWAHARLAL NEHRU said in his "THE DISCOVERY OF INDIA" (Page 37):

"HINDUISM as a faith is vague, amorphous, many sided, all things to all men. It is hardly possible to define it, or indeed to say definitely whether it is a religion or not, in the usual sense of the word. In its present form, and even in the past, it embraces many beliefs and practices, from the highest to the lowest, often opposed to or contradicting each other."

A good read uncovering the dark side.. facts we never knew.. enough to shut the zealots..

Strangely, i came across this book in a hair cutting saloon.. while the barber snipped away..i flipped the pages.. :-)

I bought some books from the Khanqah of Hazrat Maulana Qadhi Zahid Al Hussaini رحمة الله عليه ( The khalifa of Hazrat Maulana Ahmed Ali Lahori رحمة الله عليه & Shaikh ul Islam Hazrat Maulana Syed Hussain Ahmed Madani رحمة الله عليه ) few days back..

Rare stuff.. some more are in the pipeline إن شاء الله .. thought of sharing..

1. Ba Muhammed Ba Waqar ( a complete book on the rights of our Beloved Nabi (saw)

on the ummah and the punishment for blasphemy)

2. Zill Rahmani (a book on the Amaal which could save from the blazing heat of the aakhirah)

3. Damaan e Rahmat ( a potion of Mujarrab duas & Amaliyat for peace and tranquility for the depressed humanity)

4. Dars Surah fatiha by his worthy son Hazrat Maulana Qadhi Muhammed Arshad Al Hussaini (db) ( Hazrat Maulana رحمة الله عليه 's son & Janasheen)

5. Dars Hadeeth Jibrael ( a simple yet complete and comprehensive summary on Islam, Iman and Ihsan ) by Hazrat Maulana Qadhi Muhammed Arshad Al Hussaini (db)

السلام عليكم

A Great Book- Uswat-us-Saliheen By Hazrat Shaikh Abdul Haqq Muhaddith Dehlawi رحمة الله عليه Translated as - 'Adab us saliheen' by Hazrat Maulana Abdur Rahman Jami رحمة الله عليه

The Book was orignally written in Persian, it was Translated into urdu by a Student of Hazrat Shah Muhammed Is'haq sahab Muhaddith Dehlawi رحمة الله عليه - Hazrat Nawab Maulana Muhammed Qutubuddin Khan sahab رحمة الله عليه who named it as "Haadi An' Naazireen" and expanded on some important issues.

Our Hazrat Maulana Shah Wasi'ullah sahab Ilahabadi رحمة الله عليه was very fond of this book, & would also give discourses from it at his Majalis. He almost completed its discourse, giving explanations where required.Since the language used was in old Urdu, he wished it was translated to the common urdu of today.That people should not be deprived.

He requested Hazrat Maulana Abdur Rahman Jami رحمة الله عليه for this Task. Alhamdulillah we have the book now.

Does the book deal more on Akhlaq-e-Hasanah like Sabr, Tawakkul, Tawwadhu etc. or on daily Adaab (mannerisms/etiquettes) like those of meeting, eating, sleeping etc.?
