www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-45638806

I would like you to consider some facts which the Media does not wish to highlight.

  1. There are roughly 2.7 million Muslims in UK which is 4.1% of the population and this is the group which can potential name their kids "Muhammad"
  2. It means that over 95% of the population are Non-Muslims and have no reason to use the name "Muhammad"

Despite this:

  • In 2016, 6,259 boys with the name "oliver" which comes from over 95% of the population
  • In 2016, 3,691 boys with the name "Muhammad" which comes from just 4.4% of the population
  • In 2016, 7,307 boys with the different spellings of "Muhammad" from just 4.4% of the population is still a 1000 more than "oliver"

HOW CAN BBC AND BRITISH GOVERNMENT CONCLUDE THAT MUHAMMAD IS NOT THE MOST POPULAR NAME!!!

Their pathetic excuse will be that there are so many variations of the spelling so they only take into consideration the most popular :( their algorithms need changing.

Muhammad is by far the most popular and most used name in the UK! (Year in year out)

does it make any difference if bbc accept it or not?

anyone with a brain cell knows it is. last year there was same report but they had decency to say mohammed was no1 if all spellins were included and thus actually gave it no1 spot.

bbc report was silly as sara and sarah are not same name so it was a bad comparison. id understand stuart and stewert or steven and stephen. but examples they gave were totally different names
