Its different if a person is posting about himself/herself stating I have given so much in charity and do so and so to help those in need. Which isn’t the case here at all. Alhamdulillah

KABUL, Afghanistan — Around the time his hometown turned into the epicenter of coronavirus in Afghanistan and the government began a lockdown, Mohamed Kareem Tawain, an 80-year-old dentist in the western city of Herat, had a dream one night: that he took some money from his wife to distribute for charity, but found no one on the streets to give it to.

“When I came to the clinic the next morning and interpreted my dream, I knew it had a direct connection to the coronavirus,” Mr. Tawain said. “That morning, I decided I would waive the rent for the 10 shops I own,” which comes to about $6,000.

Bismillah.

Bolton Mosque is converting its space.During the lock down. To be used by the local Health Authority.

So they can offer Palliative or end of life care. To patients who are terminally ill. And do not have long to live. This will free up hospital beds for other needs.

One Nation Charity. Have been distributing fresh food and groceries to various food banks.
And cooked food from Restaurant and Fastfood joints for the staff at Hospitals. In various locations.

The law of generosity is combatting Coronavirus in Pakistan.

Outside grocery stores in Karachi, a remarkable scene has been unfolding over the past two weeks. Instead of rushing home after shopping to avoid being exposed to coronavirus, many Pakistanis are pausing outside to offer food, money or other charity to the many people on the street with no “place” to shelter-in-place. These generous offers are often accompanied with a request to the recipient: “Pray that [the coronavirus] ends soon.”

200-strong volunteer team sets up food deliveries for NHS workers

Zakaria Masjid and Education Centre in Savile Town, Dewsbury is set to launch a delivery service for NHS frontline workers to help provide them with essential food items while they tackle the threat of Coronavirus.

The charity, which provides services to the local community in Dewsbury and surrounding areas, recently launched a COVID-19 support service, manned by over 200 volunteers, which has already provided support to more than 80 families, including single parents, widows, people with existing illnesses, the elderly and NHS staff.

The charity has also distributed free fruit and vegetables to residents of Chickenley and Thornhill and is working with Kirklees Council to support the referrals made, alongside their new initiative to support NHS staff.

COVID-19 support service lead Yusuf Patel told Yorkshire Live: “We understand the sacrifices that NHS frontline workers are making and the unprecedented stress that they are currently under, so we are providing a pick-up and drop-off shopping service and a delivery of a pre-made pack of daily necessities including rice, pasta, kidney beans, chick peas and tea bags.

“We are also in dialogue with our local NHS trust and hope to be starting a delivery of packs for frontline NHS staff to their distribution centre very shortly.

“We hope that this service will go some way towards alleviating the worry of some daily necessities they need enabling them to focus on what they do best.”

The charity is also supporting their community’s other key workers – and anybody else in need.

Yusuf says: “The key workers are so busy helping us that they often forget about themselves - we say to them that you are not forgotten about and we wholeheartedly appreciate all that you do.

“We aim to help any person regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, age or disability in any way that we can.”

He adds: “We are all finding ourselves in a very strange time right now - we know some readers may be struggling with the changes we are all having to adapt to.

“We understand that the challenges of self-isolation are huge, and that mental health can also be an issue for many, but we are here to support.

“I myself am having to shield because of a medical condition, but even from home we can be a positive influence on people and look after one another.

“If we can play a small part in helping, whether it's by giving you a few minutes reading some of the positive ways we've been able to help others, or inspiring others to do a bit more, then that is what we will do.”

From food parcels to a make shift morgue inside a corona virus adapted mosque.


The Green Lane Masjid in Birmingham was among the first to shut its doors to worshippers after the coronavirus outbreak, well before large gatherings were banned in the UK. But their work at the centre of the community continued, expanded and evolved. Coronavirus: Pakistani taxi drivers provide free rides to medical staff in Spain
Over 150 Pakistani cab drivers part of the initiative in COVID-19 hit Spain

Pakistani taxi drivers are providing free transportation services to medical staff in Spain, one of the worst hit countries by the coronavirus pandemic and social media users are cheering them on.

According to a news report by German news outlet, Deutsche Welle (DW) Urdu, Pakistani taxi drivers are providing free of charge rides to doctors and nurses working on the frontline to fight COVID-19 in the European country.

Mohammad Shahbaz Khatana, is a taxi driver in Barcelona and he was quoted as saying: “We are providing all doctors who are working to treat the patients in this pandemic free rides from home to hospital and from hospital to home.”

A clip shared on Twitter by Pakistani actress Nadia Jamil, @NJLahori, shows how the drivers get in contact with healthcare workers and take them to their destinations.

Concerning the Scottish Muslim couple handing out free care packs to the elderly from their convenience store. Since then they have expanded on their community service. From free food deliverys to free PPE to hospital staff.

Dallas area’s Muslim community coordinates to provide masks, meals to Parkland Hospital — and more help on the way

Based on sheer numbers alone, the Dallas area’s Muslim community went to considerable time and effort to collect and make two sizeable donations to Parkland Memorial Hospital on Friday.

First came a late-morning delivery of 1,500 meals and 1,000 boxes of sweets to hospital staff. A few hours later, 1,000 face shields and 1,000 N95 surgical masks were delivered.

In reality, organizers said their requests to the community for donations were answered so immediately and enthusiastically that the undertaking was rather easy. And more donations are planned in the coming weeks.

“I think this bad time is getting the best out of people,” said one of the organizers, Marwan Marouf, executive director of the Richardson-based Muslim American Society youth center of Dallas-Fort Worth.

Friday’s deliveries were not the first made by the group during the coronavirus crisis. About 900 face protectors were donated to Baylor Scott & White in Irving and Sunnyvale, Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite and the Mesquite Police Department.

Great thread @Abdur-Rahman ibn Awf.

I started a twitter account that is similar a few years ago, so non-Muslims would see some positive stories about Muslims. See here: twitter.com/MuslimSamaritan

I will use this thread to add to it!

I found in general people have developed only an appreciation for bad stories or horror stories. Positive stories just do not excite them unless it has a shocking element to it. But I like to continue my project as a hujjah for the khayr of the Muslims. You begin to realize one story after another how this ummah is truly unique and understand why Allah has preferred us.

The ‘1 million meals’ campaign is a community campaign, launched under the umbrella of Zakaria Masjid & Education Centre in collaboration with global charities, to provide food assistance to less fortunate families and individuals.

A FILM documenting how the Muslim community has come together to fight on the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic features Blackburn at its heart.

The project, which is in its tenth week, is the brain child of Rizwan Wadan, a British Muslim filmmaker who has credits working on feature films such as Star Wars: Rogue One and Oscar-winning The Favourite.

Mr Wadan and his team have so far captured over 800 hours of footage from all around the country, with the creator confirming the people of Blackburn and the town itself will play a central role in the finished film.

Borne out of Mr Wadan’s tiredness of divisive narratives focusing on negative angles of Muslim and minority communities, the film will focus on all the good work being done by thousands around the country.

Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph, Mr Wadan said: “I decided to put aside my career, in order to dedicate the time and energy required to help create projects and initiatives that can help bridge the gaps between Islam, non-Muslims and the wider global community.

“We teamed up early on in the project with the EG Group, filming at some of their sites and getting stories, that’s what led us to Blackburn initially. Once here we became involved with the food hub initiative which is just absolutely phenomenal.

“It was then we realised this could be the heart of the story for us. We started to see the whole picture of how the town was dealing with the crisis, from big businesses to small businesses, restaurants, take-aways, cab drivers, individuals, neighbourhood teams, mosques and churches - the list goes on.”

Mr Wadan and his small team from Pixeleyed have been on the road together ever since as they complete the project.

Before the pandemic hit, Mr Wadan was preparing for the launch of his £1.2m anti-terrorism campaign ‘The Error in Terror’ which had to be postponed following the outbreak.

Ever since he has spent every moment volunteering alongside community groups on the frontline.
