If you've uploaded an image to the PC (in the post using the attachment tab) then open the image, copy the URL, edit the post and insert the URL in the image code.

From Maulana Yasin's post

FOR PERSONAL FONT SIZE - See here www.muftisays.com/forums/ucp.html?manage=account

bbcode without html editor (since i prefer plain text with bbcode)

Code:
[size=12]( jzk )[/size]

جزاك الله خيرا

Code:
[size=14]( jzk )[/size]

جزاك الله خيرا

Code:
[size=16]( jzk )[/size]

جزاك الله خيرا

Code:
[size=18]( jzk )[/size]

جزاك الله خيرا

Code:
[size=100]( jzk )[/size]

[size=100]
جزاك الله خيرا
[/size]

size=NUMBER where NUMBER is font size in pixels
PS. ( jzk ) - I left the space as an example in case anyone new is wondering. The shortcut is without spaces

From Maulana Yasin's post

Assalamu Alaykum,

Previously, only the topic could be bookmarked for quick retrieval.

Problem with this, if there's a topic with 40 replies, and the one you want to save if reply number 26 then saving the topic won't help you remember as the bookmark takes you to page 1. For this reason, you can now save individual posts.

Simply click on this icon to save the post.

You can then view them in the UCP > Bookmarks (Topics at the top and Posts under that).

Wassalam

As you can see, majority of the things have been posted already, so if there is something you would like to do, then please do a quick search for it and if you can't find it, then inshaAllah someone will help out.

Quoting posts but with partial texts and names of the poster.

Here's what to do:

Do you see the quotation (speach marks) in the reply box? Click it, then you will get a code like this [quote][/quote] or you can type it manually,
[quote]Put the text here[/quote] then you simply copy and paste the text in between the two.

If you are quoting multiple people, and you want to add their names to the quote, the you can either type it above the quote or type it like this inside the quote,
[quote="abu muhammad"]pasted text....[/quote]

So the above two will look like this

Quote:
Put the text here[/quote]

[quote="abu muhammad"]pasted text....

Hope that helps.

Jazakallah

To add an audio to the site, there's plenty of ways:

From a file on your computer:
Upload the file to a server (your own server) - If you don't have one, use the muftisays opendrive account www.opendrive.com - anyone who wants to upload, please PM any authorizer for the username and password.

Sisters are recommended to PM a sister authorizer or Maulana Yasin or Sister member2, brothers can PM another brother PM, inshaAllah, if another authorizer sees it, they too can respond to the query just in case the other is not online.

For open drive: Once uploaded, get the URL by right clicking the file and choosing "Links" and then "Direct Link"

You can now embed it on muftisays by using:
Code:
ENCODED_BBCODES_REPLACEMENTS
mp3]full_url_here
ENCODED_BBCODES_REPLACEMENTS
/mp3]

From anywhere else online.. if you find an mp3 online, right click the link and choose "Copy link location" or its equivalent on your browser. Then use above code to embed it.

Using the multimedia category:
The best way is to use the multimedia category on the forum. When posting, there is extra field to paste the URL. Remember this URL must be a link to an audio or video and not a web page. Links usually end in .mp3, .wma, .mp4 etc

From YouTube:
Code:
ENCODED_BBCODES_REPLACEMENTS
youtubeaudio]add youtube url in here
ENCODED_BBCODES_REPLACEMENTS
/youtubeaudio]

I hope this helps (From Maulana Yasin)

السلام عليكم

A few simple steps in taking a screen shot from a computer then uploading it to a post and displaying the screen shot.

On the page/screen you wish to capture,

Then open "Paint Brush" or something similar

Select "File" then "Paste". The screen that was captured will then be pasted here. You can edit the image if you want and make further changes.

Then save the file with an appropriate name.

When a post has been made, select attachment and upload the saved file. (this can be done in a different way too)

Once the file has been uploaded, click on the attachment, this will open in a new window. Copy the url of that page. Close the window, go back to the post and select Edit, on the edit page, add the url in between the image codes. [img]http://[/img] once done, update the post and your image will be shown on the post.

Similar process is used for mobile too. However, screen shot method is different.

There is a simple method of taking screen shots too as shown by brother Umar123

If you have at least Windows 7 (I've never tried Windows 8, nor do I plan on it. It should still work.. anyway), click the Start button in the bottom left corner of the screen which is actually the Windows logo. Type "snipping tool" and click it or press enter. The program opens.

How to use it should be self-explanatory. If you want to take a screenshot of your entire screen, just click "New." If you want to do something else, like a screenshot of just a certain window or any custom screen selection, click on the arrow next to"New" to reveal the drop-down menu.

You may choose where to save the file. I tend to save mine to my DropBox folder for quick sharing. Anyway, Snipping Tool is the built-in method for taking screenshots on Windows. There's no need for the Print Screen method anymore (الحمد لله) nor any additional software. Of course, if one is accustomed to another method that is his choice, I'm just letting you guys know about the default option.

Jazakallah, that was about to be posted too until my battery ran out of juice. I'd already copied the image to post but was too late.

Also available on Windows 8.

I'm assuming many people still use XP or Vista therefore it slipped my mind. I use both Windows 7 and 8.1 and it works very well. Otherwise, those who don't may take screen shots the old way.
