Dear brothers & sisters

I underwent cataract surgery on 30th Nov. After 3 days I noticed that I've got distorted vision. According to doctors it's metamorphopsia which is an incurable disease. I don't know what to do. Can anyone suggest me who's the right person to be consulted in India. I searched on Google, one Dr Cyrus M Shroff, Delhi is a retina specialist. Does anyone know about him in person?

My left eye has this problem that the object I focus upon appears wavy, curving, bending i.e. Either shrinks inside or bulges out. They also say that retina is a bit damaged or affected. I see a small spot in vision when I blink.

Looking forward for your kind suggestions and sincere dua.

Wasalaam.

May Allah Taala give you kaamil shifa.

The ophthalmologists in my city aren't that famous. I think it would be better to look in Delhi as you will be having more options. InshaAllah someone near Delhi would be able to help you.

Wa 'Alaykumussalaam wa Rahmatullah brother,

I'm really saddened by hearing these news. May Allah ta'ala grant you somehow complete shifa' and make your treatment successful. I can not really help you out, but there were plenty Indian doctors members of SF. Maybe they or even Hazrat Dr76 can be of any assistance.

Quote:
Treatment of Metamorphopsia

The treatments available for this condition depend on the underlying causes. To properly get a treatment, a patient will need to see an ophthalmologist first and undergo an ophthalmologic examination.

If the cause of distorted vision or metamorphopsia is bleeding which is usually seen in patients with macular degeneration, laser photocoagulation can be an option to prevent further hemorrhage. Furthermore, if retinal detachment is the culprit for causing symptoms of metamorphopsia then surgery must be considered as a priority treatment. Scleral buckling, pneumatic retinoplexy and vitrectomy are the surgeries that can treat retinal detachment. However, if the cause of metamorphopsia is only macular hole, it can be treated using cryotherapy to prevent a full-scale retinal detachment.

Lastly, migraines can be cured using pain medications such as acetaminophen and NSAIDs or other non-medication alternatives such as relaxation techniques, getting enough sleep, avoiding smoking, and avoiding foods high in tyramine.

Sad to know brother. I pray that you get normal soon.

Some masnoon duas;

For the second dua, I read about the Sunnah of rubbing the affected area with the right hand.

PS: Someone who knows the Sunnah regarding the second dua, please share the confirmed Sunnah regarding it. Jazakumullahu khaira.

Allah bless you with Shifa Brother.

Julaybib on Sunniforum has just posted the following in Dalail ul Khayrat thread, perhaps it might be of benefit.

Salat al Tibbiya.

The Salat al Tibbiya (Salat of healing) is very popular in the Middleeast, and South east asia. For the cure of both physical and emotional illnesses.

It is believed to be very effective for those suffering from Heart disease, and diseases affecting the Eyes.

Allahumma Salli `ala Sayyidina Muhammadin

Tibbil qulubi wa dawaa’iha

Wa nuril absari wa diya’iha

Wa `afiyatil abdaani wa shifaa’iha

Wa `ala Aalihi wa Sahbihi wa Sallim.

salat al tibbiya

O Lord! Send blessings on our master Muhammad,

The medicine of hearts and their cure,

The light of eyes and their illumination,

The health of bodies and their healing,

And upon his family, companions, and send peace.

May Allah سبحانه وتعالى give u kamil shifa with Afiya brother..

Personally i have no contacts with ophthalmologists there in India.

Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) in Calicut, Kerala is known to have some good specialists.
