After all, wasn't it the UN/British Empire that decided to give a land that doesn't belong to them to a group of people they have nothing to do with?
If the UN/British Empire cared so much about them they should have given a part of England, France or some other country to them. Probably would have made more sense to have given East Germany as it was Hitler and his men who had persecuted them.
As the attacks intensify in Gaza and innocent people continue to be killed, HSBC Bank has issued a two-month notice to Ummah Welfare Trust to close down its accounts.
This is similar to what Barclays did to Ummah Welfare Trust during the previous Gaza war in 2008. A notice then was also served for the charity to close its accounts.
Ummah Welfare Trust reassures supporters that, in response, the charity will increase its support to the orphans, widows and injured civilians in Gaza through its other bank accounts.
Ummah Welfare Trust appeals to all people of conscience; and those who champion Human Rights, International Law and Justice; to support the charity by the following means:
1. Write to HSBC bank asking them to resume business with Ummah Welfare Trust by emailing managingdirectoruk@hsbc.com; phoning 0843 308 2006 or 08457 60 60 60; or tweeting them at @HSBCUKBusiness.
2. Inform your contacts worldwide that if HSBC denies services to Ummah Welfare Trust then consider boycotting HSBC.
3. Continue donating at UWT.org and increase our aid to the Palestinians.
4. If HSBC persists on punishing a charity for working in Gaza then we request you make a moral and ethical decision by taking your business to other banks.
For all media enquiries and other enquiries relating to this issue, please email prenquiries@uwt.org or call 01204 661 037.
FOR CONCERNED DONORS
Please note that Ummah Welfare Trust have been given 2 months notice. During this period it will continue to have normal banking services with HSBC. Therefore there will be no impact to donors.
Those who donate online can still continue do so, as this has no link with HSBC. Funds online are managed by a merchant service and not HSBC.
There is no impact to standing orders. Transfers to another bank account are done through an automated process and donors therefore do not have to do anything. Donors with standing orders will be informed about new bank details once confirmed.
Bank transfers are also not affected. Donors can still transfer funds to Ummah Welfare Trust's current HSBC account since the account can still be used for two months.
Donors should be assured that Ummah Welfare Trust has other bank accounts which will be used to continue the relief efforts.
Israeli Finance Minister Yair Lapid warned that the increasing boycott campaigns against Israel will have devastating effects on the economy. Meanwhile, Germany’s largest bank, Deutsche Bank, blacklisted the Israeli Hapoalim bank as an “unethical company†due to its funding of illegal Jewish settlements in the West Bank.

Israel’s Finance Minister Yair Lapid has warned that the world, United States included, is losing sympathy and patience with Israel
Speaking to a group of representatives from American Jewish organizations on Monday, Yesh Atid party chairman Lapid warned that the increasing boycott campaigns against Israel will have devastating effects on the economy.
After a top US acedemics union ASA decided to boycott Israeli academics and educational institutions that operate in and support illegal settlements in the West Bank, Dutch pension giant PGGM and Denmark’s Danske Bank also boycotted Israeli banks for the same reason.
Meanwhile, Germany’s largest bank, Deutsche Bank (DB), has blacklisted the Israeli Hapoalim bank as an “unethical company†due to its funding of illegal Jewish settlements in the West Bank, Israel’s Maariv newspaper reported.
Dutch firm Boskalis Westminister and Italian firm Condote de Agua also withdrew bids to build private seaports in Ashdod and Haifa, fearing political reprecussions for working with Israel.
According to the Israeli Haaretz, they join Spanish companies FCC and Cyes, as well as Germany’s Möbius Bau, who also dropped out of the bidding process months back, citing threats to their business interests in the Middle-East.
Last year, boycotts on products like dates and grapes grown in the occupied Jordan Valley caused a $29 million loss for illegal Jewish settlers in the region. As reported in the Washington Post, income from exports dropped 14%, mainly due to big supermarket chains in Europe deciding to boycott the products.
David Elhayani, head of the Jordan Valley Regional Council, told the Washington Post, “In effect, today, we are almost not selling to the (Western) European market anymore.â€
Zvi Avner, head of the agriculture committee in the Jordan Valley, said that sales of peppers and grapes to Western Europe have dropped by about 50% and fresh herbs by up to 40%.
In 2009, the UK gradually started labeling or completely boycotting settler products. Together with Scandinavian countries, the UK has made the 550,000 odd illegal Jewish settlers in the West Bank very nervous.
Marks & Spencer, Morrisons and Waitrose are among many British firms to stop selling settler goods in recent years. Germany’s Kaiser Supermarket has also made a moral decision against selling settler products.
Many feel that a trend is slowly starting to develop in the West against Israel, similar to that which brought down the apartheid regime in South Africa.
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
