Myth of Vaccinations

Before proceeding I would like to state that Shaykh (Mufti) AS Desai (HA) is our elder and Hazrat (HA) has always recommended comments on his articles so I request Hazrat (HA)’s Duas and I in turn make sincere dua to Allah (SWT) to grant our dear respected and beloved Hazrat (HA) long life and best of success in this world and the next (Ameen).

This is just to inform Shaykh (Mufti) AS Desai (HA) of the technical details of this Mas'ala in UK.

Introduction:

This blog is being penned in response to our beloved Brothers and Sisters who are connected with our dear respected, honourable and beloved Shaykh (Mufti) AS Desai (HA) and his stance on vaccination.

Before proceeding, please read the twin disclaimer as follows:

1. This article only applies to UK, if you live outside of UK please consult your local Ulamah and Medical practitioners for guidance;
2. This article only applies to Children’s Vaccination;

With Taufeeq from Allah (SWT), adult vaccinations may be handled at a later date.

Global Application?

Again, let me repeat that this is based on Children Vaccination in UK and cannot be applied to South Africa, USA, Pakistan, India or rest of Europe. Any article which begins to discuss vaccinations and ingredients (globally) without making any distinctions must be further investigated.

Al-Majlis Stance:

Since I have no idea which other Ulamah are involved in Al-Majlis (South Africa) I would merely attribute this to our dear and beloved Hazrat Shaykh (Mufti) AS Desai (HA) who takes the following two positions:

1. Vaccinations (The Malis: Vol 15 NO 6)
   1. There are three harmful ingredients listed as follows (order changed):
      1. Mercury
      2. Aluminium formaldehyde
      3. Extremely toxic substances (no details provided)
2. VACCINATION IS HARAAM (Thursday, December 12 2013)
   1. No technical or Fiqh details provided to comment upon

Critique of Al-Majlis Stance:

Mercury?

This is known as Thiomersal (also called Thimerosal) and it is NOT used in any of the Children's vaccinations in UK so Hazrat Shaykh (Mufti) AS Desai (HA) stance is inapplicable to UK. 

Formaldehyde?

Hazrat Shaykh (Mufti) AS Desai (HA)'s article lists an ingredient called "Aluminium formaldehyde" but I suspect that Hazrat means the two separately and a comma has been missed or further explaination missed as a typo so it should be:

1. "Aluminium"
2. "Formaldehyde"

We will discuss "Formaldehyde", first Insha'Allah.

Human body naturally produces "Formaldehyde" during metabolism formate view inline by an enzyme called formaldehyde dehydrogenase view inline and the resulting formate excreted through Urine by exhalation (by Co2). This is a natural process, blood samples from even babies contain "Formaldehyde". There are plenty of fruits and vegetables which naturally view inline contain "Formaldehyde".

Here are three scientific facts:

1. Apples naturally contain anywhere from 6.3 – 22.3 (mg/kg) of "Formaldehyde"
2. In a 2 month old baby in an average blood sample will contain of 1.1 mg of "Formaldehyde"
3. There is NO Vaccine on Planet Earth containing more then 0.1 mg of "Formaldehyde"

Apart from the fact that there is no established scientific study to prove the harms of "Formaldehyde" in vaccinations, If we were to give every Child vaccine available in USA (higher then UK) together in ONE GO (which is NEVER done) here is the comaprison:

• Every vaccine containing "Formaldehyde" given together (impossibility # 1) and the baby’s body not metabolising it at all (impossibility # 2) will result in roughly 1.8 mg of "Formaldehyde"

• Baby's blood stream (naturally) contains 1.1 mg of "Formaldehyde"

• Apples have 6.3 – 22.3 (mg/kg)  of "Formaldehyde"

Aluminium?

In the UK Aluminium is used in vaccines in the form of salts such as aluminium hydroxide, aluminium phosphate, and potassium aluminium sulphate. Aluminium salts are an important component of vaccines since they act as adjuvants, strengthening and lengthening the immune response to the vaccine. It is used in some vaccines (not all).

Aluminium naturally occurs in our environment in these quantities:

In the UK the quantity it is less than 2 milligrams of the salts, and less than a milligram of actual aluminium in the vaccines used.

In USA the quantity is precisely as follows:

*Note: One milligram is one-thousandth of a gram. One gram is the weight of one-fifth of a teaspoon of water.

There are two well known studies from 2002 and subsequently from 2011 which show no ill effects of aluminium whatsoever so feel free to compare the results
