Assalamu 'alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakaatuh, 25/02/14

Dear Shoorah and responsible elders of Dewsbury markaz,

We hope and pray that you are all well by the will of Allah (SWT). We have received the fax naseehah and Alhamdulillah have taken good effect from it. We have reached the end of our tashkeel in Perth and are on our onwards journey towards Taiwan.

Since our last karguzari sent on 06/01/14, we have been working in a total of nine "pockets" and three musallahs, staying an average of 3 to 5 days at each location. As mentioned in our last karguzari we have endeavoured to walk between each location and many local brothers have joined us and this has helped to open the fikr of paidal effort within the city.

A pocket is defined as a collection of areas at least 10 minutes drive away from any masjid or musallah. We searched muslim addresses from the "White Pages" (BT directory equivalent) and made best efforts to reach as many as possible. An average of 100-150 addresses were listed for each of these locations. The whole jamaat as well the local old workers remained vigilant for any potential addresses where our jamaat could stay in these "pockets". In this way we met many new brothers who Allah (SWT) used to consequently accommodate us, some even temporarily relocated their families. However there was one "pocket" called Mandurah where the nearest masjid / musallah was 60 Km north and 110 Km south. We had found 220 muslim addresses there, but no suitable accommodation was available. Finally following mashwara, we decided to hire a house ($120 per night for three nights). This proved to be very beneficial, as many local brothers joined us for the salaat / jowla / meals and also staying overnight, after we had made extensive visits on the first day. The nusrah saatis from Perth who had joined us were surprised by the response and have intended to consider this as a strategy in future. Alhamdulillah Allah (SWT) provided three cars for us at any one time. Car insurance is optional in Australia and so we were fully indepedant when we reached places where there was limited local nusrah. We made three jamaats for jowla both after Zuhr (3 hrs) and after Asr (2hrs). In this way we would reach between 40 to 60 houses daily between the entire jamaat. Each jowla would cover an average of 50 Km in distance. We recorded each visit and response in our Fajr mashwara which would take about 20 - 30 mins due to the sheer volume of the karguzari reports. We have had many local brothers joining our jamaat during our time from various nationalities; some spent 40 days, others spent a week and many new brothers spent a few days. In this way, they practically saw how our jamaat operated and they have all made intentions to take up the effort of the pockets and distant localities.

23 brothers from Perth went to the Australia continental mashwara in Nizam Uddin and they have now returned with refreshed fikr. We spent the last 18 days of our tashkeel revisiting the key masaajid / musallahs where the work is happening to try and consolidate the local effort. We spent 6 days in each zone (North, Central and South) and we held a mashwara / karguzari programme with food ikraam and barbeques on our last day at each zone. Alhamdulillah approx. 50 to 60 brothers attended each of these three programmes. The objective was to feedback the work conducted in the pockets to the zonal brothers and we used the new saatis to relay this (eg brothers who accommodated us in their houses). We also helped to outline the pocket boundaries and also gave targheeb on strengthening the existing local work and extending the effort of the pockets.

We have encountered ajeeb nusrah with this style of work. One brief karguzari is of one distant address we went to whilst staying in a pocket location, that we retrieved from the White Pages. The Malay brother that we visited was astonished to see us and was very welcoming. He had never been visited by muslims before. He came back to the house we were staying in after the mulaqaat and on seeing the environment of a'maal, he stayed the night and subsequently joined our jamaat having taken a week off work (engineer). He then offered his house for us to use for 3 days and this formed a basis for us visiting 104 newly searched addresses in his suburb, of which one was a Chinese youngster who had spent some time before in khurooj. After spending 5 days with us, this youngster developed fikr and Allah (SWT) accepted him for 4 months to India / Bangladesh, after the tafaqqud with the local saatis.

In total we spent 28 days in these "pockets" and two complete jamaats left for three days from two of these pockets for the first time. We went for nusrah of these jamaats and this khurooj helped to establish local a'maal in their places.

Two 4 months jamaats arrived during our final weeks in Perth - one arab jamaat from Kuwait (total 4 months tashkeel in Perth) and another from Durban, South Africa (25 days tashkeel in Perth). We visited both jamaats and gave them a full karguzari and hand-over of our efforts, as well as all the visits we had documented during our safar.

Approximately 1700 visits have been made during the 3 months we have stayed in Perth and Alhamdulillah the effect has been tremendous. On our final day, brothers came to visit us from all over the city and we had in excess of 10 cars ready to transport our seven brothers to the airport. With a heavy heart we have now departed from Perth and ask Allah (SWT) to send more jamaats to this remote corner of Australia.

We request your special duas and inshaAllah we will try to send another karguzari from Taiwan.

Wassalam,
UK jamaat

May Allah (SWT) reward all those in the work on Jamaat and all those serving the Deen of Allah (SWT) in any way or capacity and give us all the ability to serve the Deen of Allah (Ameen).

Subhanallah. Good timing...was just speaking y'day about Perth. We have distant relatives who live there ...they moved to Perth from S.Africa about 30 years back. Had no idea we had relatives there until they visited us here in London some years back. My father helped my elderly cousin form there with his collections to help (build) one of the masjids in Perth. He's passed away now...may Allah reward him immensely.
